I'm a huge fan of ImageWell. In fact, I've used it to edit nearly every image I've posted to TUAW. If you're unfamiliar, it's a quick-and-dirty image editor that's perfect when Photoshop would be overkill. Crop or resize your image, add a watermark or upload to your server easily.Today, version 3.2 is available, and offers Flickr, SmugMug and ImageShack compatibility. Just click to send your image on its way. You can also annotate images with text, flip, rotate and more. Plus, ImageWell offers support for FTP, .Mac, SFTP and WebDAV. You can even designate a local folder for export.
ImageWell is free. However, you can purchase the "Xtras pack" - which offers features in addition to those mentioned here - for $14.95US.

Skitch is so close to making Imagewell obsolete for me. I imagine the folks at Imagewell know this and have to compete... still Imagewell is free and I guess the final version of Skitch will not be, right?

I usually use Gimpshop for image editing... are these programs better or more user friendly?

While somewhat limited in features and customization, Imagewell is extremely easy to use and very lightweights. for the simple image grab, resize, rename, conversion, etc its way quicker than photoshop or any equivalent. Seashore is more powerful than necessary me thinks, but to each his own.

I still haven't received my invitation to the Skitch Beta :(
I saw the video, looks nice. We're thinking of doing a flashy video with ImageWell as well. Maybe a puppet show featuring 'Elevator small talk Tony' as the narrator* :D

I don't like the Skitch Terms (Using my CPU for their purposes!) I love ImagWell - my most used utility by far.
