iPhone 101: Updating your "Sent from my iPhone" email signature

Is that "Sent from my iPhone" message starting to get on your nerves? By default, every email sent from your iPhone gets appended by a signature specified in Settings > Mail > Signature. To clear out this signature entirely, delete all the text from the Signature text field. Your emails will lose that "Sent from my iPhone" tag.

Of course, if signatures don't particularly bother you, you might want to add a more personalized quote or even some contact information (although preferably not using unnecessary ASCII art). Or, you can put on your antipersonnel hat and start messing with people's minds, e.g. "Sent from my Blueberry." How do you intend to sign your emails?

That is usually so coworkers know you are away from your pc email. I guess like setting your away status on AIM, etc.

you'd think tuaw would have a link at the top of their page that could redirect you to all of their posts that AREN'T about the iphone. there wouldn't be much content but some of us didn't get an iphone and don't care to read all about it.

I received my iPhone as a surprise birthday gift from my wife, so I e-mailed my family & friends the next day with a note saying only that my wife is amazing and that I had an incredible birthday. The kicker was the signature, which caused such numerous replies as "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!" and "iJealous" and "Your wife is AWESOME!"

Otherwise, I've added a dashed line above the signature, so that it better separates from the body of the e-mail. And I'll keep the whole thing going for a few more months or until I really start to look like a tool, whichever comes first.

I'm just waiting for Apple to enable per-account signatures. As it stands, it is tough to use when I receive both work and personal email and want different signatures for each.
