iPhone 101: Stop automatic synchronization
Sometimes you want to connect your iPhone to your Mac just to give it a charge. However, iTunes launches each time and starts a time-consuming synchronization. How can you prevent this? The solution is pretty easy. First, connect your iPhone to your Mac and launch iTunes. Next, click on your iPhone in the sidebar and then de-select the "Automatically sync when iPhone is connected" option in the first tab. The next time you connect your iPhone to your Mac, you won't initiate a whole ordeal. Ahhh.

If you are in a hurry and only want to prevent the auto sync once, you might also be able to hold Cmd+Option (Ctrl+Shift on a Windows machine) when connecting it. (This tip works for iPods, haven't tested it on an iPhone).

Okay, but how do I delete the leftover Bookmarks Bar and Bookmarks Menu folders in iPhone Safari now that I've deselected bookmarks syncing?

My IPhone has recently started freezing on me. More often now as usual. I tried the reset using the SLEEP and HOME key but it is still freezing. on the home page.
I called for assistance but they told me to RESTORE my phone but I know that would mean I would lose some of my info and settings on my phone. Is there a way of getting around this where I am not losing my settings and other important info on my phone?
