Share your iPhone stories with Apple
Attention enthusiastic iPhone owners - Apple would like to hear just what it is you like so much about your new gadget. At a new page under apple.com/iphone, Apple has presented a form with which you can share your iPhone stories. Has the iPhone changed the way you work? Perhaps you warmed grandma's heart with your finger-flickin' photo albums? Or maybe your two-and-a-half year-old figured out how to use your iPhone? Whatever the tale, Apple would like to hear it, probably so they can scatter some quotes from real world folks like you around the iPhone product pages.Personally, I had to thank Apple for finally putting the real internet in my pocket, as no other device - not even a BlackBerry or IE on Windows Mobile - has been able to handle the home-grown content management system we use for Weblogs, Inc. blogs. The iPhone can, which means I'm able to perform some of my administrative duties at Download Squad anytime, anywhere I need, and that's enough of a life-changing story for me.

I wonder what they are going to use these for. Unless they just did this so they can read them... which seems kind of pointless... Anyways, that's dedication to a product right there :-)

I like those little white dots on the screen that they don't know how to fix.
I call them "my wee white pals."
They are so cute!
Here is a cut and paste from http://www.applematters.com/index.php/section/comments/the-iphone-a-month-later-891/:
~~~~~~~~paste~~~~~~~~~
"a defect with the iPhone but it is somewhat odd. Jovan at iPhone Matters reported last month some users were experiencing a grid of white dots appear on the LCD and is noticeable on the black parts of the screen. Unfortunately my iPhone has demonstrated the same defect but some more research revealed that these dots are in fact the touch sensors that populate the region above the LCD. What wasn’t normal was that this grid of dots were appearing.
I further elaborated on the problem and found that when I took it to the Apple Store they refused to do anything in regards to the problem. Some of our readers echoed the same thing so I decided to try Apple Care. Luckily I was able to have my iPhone fixed and that the support rep has assured me I wasn’t going insane because no one else could see the dots.
However when I received my iPhone it still demonstrated the defect I had sent it in for. I could tell they at least tampered with my iPhone due to the glass cover dipping in on the upper left hand corner. It seems Apple is aware of the issue but does not know how to fix it."
~~~~~~end paste~~~~~~~~
I love my wee white pals.
I hope to keep them indefintely!

when is TUAW going to get a full redesign like the other blogs that use your "home-grown content management system" (ie engadget, joystiq, autoblog)?

#3: Believe-you-me, we're hoping for one as well. Sadly, those issues are out of the hands of the bloggers, but I'm pretty sure we have at least some kind of an update coming sooner or later.
When or what, however, I cannot say any more on.

Here's the story I posted:
Don't get me wrong... I love my iPhone, and my Mac Mini, both acquired recently after decades with PCs (I last owned a Mac in 1984, BTW).
But some shortcomings of the iPhone, which are correctable, have indeed changed my life.
With my old Nokia e62, I would walk into my office and via Bluetooth, everything would sync automatically.
Calendar, contacts, MP3 files, etc. My Nokia even supported my company's Lotus Notes system.
With my Nokia, I would get AOL IM notices without having to open up a browser to go to a specific page, login, etc.
Also with my Nokia, in my car, the Bluetooth speakerphone would automatically connect, and then my Bluetooth headset would connect when I was away from my car. And vice versa.
I could sync with multiple PCs too. So my work computer might have my contacts and calendar, but my computer at home had my music, etc.
So, while I'm glad I switched, my life has indeed changed and not in the way I was hoping.
I'm sending this in the hopes that these software shortcomings could be addressed. For example, I'm glad that Apple released a software fix within the first month...that shows me that such enhancements could be delivered.
Thanks for listening.
