Desktoptopia (not to be confused with Desktopia) is a program that automagically delivers the latest and greatest in wallpaper right to your desktop-- just press go, and the app will drop a new desktop on you as often as you want, from any categories that you want, rated however you want. For people who love seeing a brand new desktop, but don't want to take the time hunting around to find one all the time, it's the best. The best, Jerry, the best! And now it's even better, because they've posted a coupon code on his site that drops the normally $20 shareware application down to just $10. Enter "luckyme" at checkout, and you'll be wallpaper browsing and changing in no time. More desktops, no worries-- sounds great to me.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

One big difference is that DeskLickr draws its pictures from Flickr, whereas this app seems to use graphics the coder has collected from the 'net. It looks like artists can submit their work, but it's not clear to me what they get out of the relationship.
Either way, $10 is still $10 too much for this tool. I don't object to him making money on HIS work, but unless I misunderstand his relationship with the artists, I do OBJECT to him making money from other peoples' work.

I don't have a problem with it. He's offering convenience so you don't have to go hunt these wallpapers down yourself. $10. That's not a big deal.

Looks like the app give full credit and links to each artist. So it's a way to find new artists and their work.

Desklickr stpped working for keeps about ten minutes after I ran it.

Ah yes, a $20 wallpaper switcher.
What is up with basic Mac apps like this costing such ridiculous sums? There are probably fifteen freeware alternatives for this on Windows. This is really the only thing I can't stand about the OS X platform.

Okay, so he credits the artists. That's excellent. I'd be a little happier if they got a cut of the net profits from application sales. I can hit Deviant Art and find a lot of these people and download their walls for free.
My preferred wallpaper source lately is Flickr. Both my monitors are showing walls made from Flickr shots right now, and they're every bit as good as anything I saw on this guy's site. And yeah, free. So...
@artifex - I enjoy hunting for my wallpapers rather than sitting around passively having them fed to me. I can understand it if you're really busy, but...y'know...it just seems kinda boring to me. *shrug* To each his own.

Lets see how many ways I can criticize this app. You buy it and they send you a license code... but guess what... you can't enter it in... You email them and you get an email back that says they are working on it. It traps on bootup more times than not and is definitely some kind of alpha or beta version.... This application sucks so much.... I was stupid to give them money. So much for the links I have gotten on TUAW and how well that works....

I had a simular problem, but they fixed it for me on the same day. Turned out to be a conflict with a probram called Little Snitch. Now it's working great.
And you can't beat support on a Sunday!
