Woz drives his Prius very quickly
Who says hybrids are slow?Woz was recently ticketed for pushing his Prius to 104 m.p.h. on California Interstate 5. His excuse was that international traveling had him thinking in kilometers per hour, not miles. The judge thought this over, then handed Steve a $700US fine.
Why was Woz in such a hurry? Perhaps he had a date with Kathy.
Thanks, Phil!

If you've ever had to drive on I-5 during an August afternoon, you'd be pushing 100MPH too :)

The little old dude from Cupertino
Go Wozzy go Wozzy go Wozzy go
Once had a concert in San Bernadino
Go Wozzy go Wozzy go Wozzy go
But parked from us, not very far
Is a fancy new Prius car
And everybody's saying that there's nobody sweeter
Than the little old dude from Cupertino
He drives real fast and he just got caught
He's the terror of Apple's company parking lot
He's the little old dude from Cupertino
...perhaps I shouldn't quit my day job

I live in a small town off of I-5 in northern California and it is way easy to speed considering there is little traffic and it's mostly flat. I usually go 80mph when the limit is 70mph. People even pass me going > 90mph.

Al Gore's son knows.
And @ chris (3), what is your problem? You will bow before the man who made your life as easy as it is today.

Most of the time I see a Prius on the highway it's doing 45 in the left lane.

Woz told the judge, "I eat lasers more expensive than that for breakfast."

That's 167 kilometers per hour, unless he's been driving on the autobahn I'm pretty sure that's considered speeding around the world.

He must've meant that he thought he was doing 104 kilometers per hour, which, being about 60 mph, would probably be OK on an interstate. Of course, I'd think that anyone who was paying attention could tell 60 mph from 100 mph just by looking out the window . . .

I don't buy the mph/kph argument -- lame! If you're doing 60 mph in the rural parts of I-5 in California, I'd think the CHP will pull you over for driving too slow. It's posted at 75, and typical speeds are 80-85.

The judge should have given him a break.
Surely he was going down an extremely steep hill with a gail force tailwind.

As a fellow Prius owner, I appreciate the efforts by Woz and Mr. Gore to let everyone know that the Prius is indeed capable of speeding (top speed: 104-107 MPH).
