Uncle Steve's Benz on Google Street View

You've no doubt noticed the addition of Google Street View to certain locales in the US. It provides street level pictures by means of roving Google vans (and cars). Anyway, they've now got a view of Waverly Steet in Palo Alto, which just happens to be the home of our favorite CEO, complete with license plate-free Mercedes. So courtesy of Google you too can engage in a little cyber-stalking. (Somehow I think I'm already regretting this post, but the public's got a right to know!)

Or maybe you're just impulsive or trying to come up with an excuse? Freedom of the press, even those pretending to be the press, doesn't mean you have to have run a given story if you want to. Actually, I think it means that you can choose not to run a given story.

How in the world did you find his address in the first place? Did you follow him home?

I guess Mat hopped into the ol' DeLorean and went back in time to get this old news.

Also (and I don't entirely doubt the barcode story, but I don't see documented facts in autoblog's post), it's extremely common to see cars without license plates in CA. New cars don't require them, as long as they have the proper temporary creds in the window. I was shocked by this when I moved here, but now it's just sorta fact.

I find it even more creepy that I wonder what is inside his wheely bin (pan to the right and down a little)...

I live a few blocks away from him.
If anyone is interested in barcodes, I'll be putting one up on eBay shortly.

#2: If you read the Autoblog link, old Stevo has had his plate stolen so many times that he's gotten permission from the State of California to have a barcode where his plate would normally be.
