Vienna 2.2 is available
Just eight weeks after the teaser announcement, Vienna 2.2 has been released. I have been happily using Vienna for months. It's a light and simple RSS reader that's free and open. What more do you need? How about (new to version 2.2):- Snappier performance
- Major UI improvements (no more brushed metal!)
- Support for RSS/Atom enclosures, plus a new Enclosure panel for articles that contain enclosures.
- Global search
- Feed auto-discovery
If you like to travel light, check out Portable Vienna, which runs on a USB keychain drive.

Be sure to "export subscriptions" before you update. I lost all of my subs after this update was applied... :(

just a tip: you should probably describe what kind of software you are notifying us of an update to-not trying to be snarky.

I just love it when a new app or new version of an App is released and the one critical bit of missing info is missing: what the app is.
For example, "RSS reader Vienna updatad to version 2.2."
At least I assume this is YARSSR (Yet Another RSS Reader) from the one little hint about handling RSS/ATOM enclosures?

@Drew: "Support for RSS/Atom enclosures"
Sounds like it's a graphics app of some sort.

Vienna is a fantastic RSS reader for the Mac, easily competing with NewsFire and the like, and best of all, it's free!

Well I knew what Vienna was about. I use it and the new version is snazzy. Really like the new tid-bits and tweaks.

Frankly, I think the new UI is horrible. IMHO, it is inconsistent, full of unnecessary or simply ugly elements and has glitches.
The old UI was simple and highly functional, which is one of the main reasons I like(d) Vienna more than, say, NewsFire or NetNewsWire.

I love Vienna, but there is one flaw they still didn't fix:
the unread folders and articles are displayed in a bold font. You can change the font, but you can't change the style.
If you hate to read bold lines, then here's my workaround: use "Nadeem" as font, and everything is much more readable.

Still needs to sync with Newsgator or Bloglines. I switched back to NNW for the Newsgator syncing so I can do RSS from my iPhone.

It's uglier now. :( And I'm not the only one saying this.
I'm thinking about going back to version 2.1
