Re-authorizing your computer for Ringtones

You authorized your computer to your iTunes account long, long ago. So why don't your iTunes Ringtones sync to your iPhone? Turns out that you're going to have to reauthorize your computer to allow it to use ringtones. Yes, not only do you have to sign a new terms of service to buy that ringtone but you also have to add a separate authorization.
Ah, there's nothing quite like the smell of RIAA in the morning.

*THIS* is an opinion piece AND some detail on how the terms of service have changed. That is what this piece could have been if Erica had put any effort into it. Actually, I doubt that, but maybe she'd have got closer.
I've created a couple of ringtones, just playing around with them. They are noticeably louder than the regular ringtones. Much, much louder.

On the one hand, bloggers are trying to say they're the 21st century's journalists... on the other hand there's posts like this and comment-baiting 'what do you think' posts that are becoming more common on here. Which is it going to be..? Sites like TUAW need to decide.
Why should the read link be a joke? There could have been an article here...
It's not an opinion piece. Look at some of Gruber's opinion pieces to see what a real opinion piece is. This looks like a news piece, but there's nothing there...
This is probably so you can't email ringtones, right??

What saddens me is the multiple commenters above me that are CLEARLY unable to understand a little sarcastic wit!
@1 It's just a post on a blog, no related article... the read link is a JOKE
@2 It's called an opinion piece - go somewhere else
@4 You also sadden me
Is that song from Hairspray? You crack me up...
erica sadun, you sadden me.

Why analyze something so incredibly asinine? It would be an exercise in futility.

Is that supposed to be funny..? Why not link us to the new terms of service, or some analysis of what's changed..?
