The browser password manager 1Passwd has just been updated to version 2.5b and adds an interesting new feature: iPhone export. You're now able to export your secure passwords and notes to the iPhone from your Mac. The clever thing is that they accomplish this without hacking the iPhone in any way. Basically what it does is create a special Safari secured bookmarket from your 1Passwrd data "using 448 bit Blowfish encryption." This special bookmarklet is then synced to the iPhone in the normal way through iTunes. When you access the bookmarklet in mobile Safari on the iPhone it prompts you for your password and then gives you access to your passwords, secure notes, etc. Since it's just a bookmarklet in mobile Safari this should not be affected by any future firmware changes, etc.
The latest 1passwd beta can be downloaded from the Agile Web Solutions Forum.

Speaking of bookmarklets, does anyone know a way to jump to the bottom of a web page (like say, a message board thread) when in Safari on the iPhone? This would be opposite to tapping the top of the screen to jump back up to the top of a web page. I just haven't seen anything like it for jumping to the bottom. Can't find a bookmarklet for it either.
Any help would be appreciated.

This is great news! I have been using 1Passwd and think it is a great program. iPhone support is a great addition.
The beta works but it still needs a touch more polish.

Thanks for the post! It's great to see people enjoying Sync to iPhone as much as we do :)
Our next goal is to add Go&Fill so your login information is entered automatically, just like the 1Password browser extension does today.
My favorite part of this feature is there are no hacks. While I needed to hack my iPhone to make it work on the Canadian Fido network, I know many people are not interested in hacks that may potentially brick their iPhone.
We had planned a native app, but after the recent firmware update, I think it is pretty clear Apple plans on doing their best to keep this device locked down.
Cheers!

So friggin' sweet! Getting an iPhone in the next month or so and this is something I really *need* on it. 1Password has been a god-send since I first got it on MacHeist.

This is feature add to the 1Passwd program so people who already own 1Passwd do not pay anything to get the functionality.

This is excellent. I'm loving this. This brings me one step closer to justifying my move from WM6 to iPhone. Now I have 3 more things to make me completely happy. Those are a good personal finance program for the iPhone that syncs with Quicken or Money like Cash Organizer by Inesoft does, full MS Exchange access for push email, and a good blackjack game. I'm sure the Dev Team and Erica Sadun are close to making a generally available app to app unlock my iPhone once again so I can install that really cool Black Jack game. As for the other two, only time will tell.
Thanks for the free upgrade Dave. You're the best mate.
