Roger Kenny sends word that one of the best web-based games for the iPhone, Battlefleet, has been updated. Not only is there a new splash page (quoting an eminent Mac gaming scholar-- ahem), but Roger has set up an "iPhone Entrance," a "Web Browser" entrance (which, strangely enough, didn't work right in Firefox 2.0.0.7 for me-- I had to play the iPhone version in my browser, which worked fine), and an "Internet Explorer Exit." Very nice.In game, there are some good updates, too-- most notably in the Options menu, you can now switch sides and play as either Red or Blue. Unfortunately, still no multiplayer play yet, but last time we posted the game, Roger mentioned in the comments that multiplayer was as forthcoming as he could make it. Meanwhile, the game plays just as smoothly as before, and faithfully recreates the BattleShip experience.
And yes, you cheaters, Cheat Mode still does work. I won't ruin things by telling you how to do it, but it's intact.

Another iPhone Update!...
How many updates can the iPhone have in one day?
To be serious a little, I actually enjoy knowing my little phone keeps packing a punch when all the other phones out there are finally catching up, but don't really have the update capability to have something new come out each day, or each week for that matter. Keep 'em coming.

This guy deserves a medal for having created both Battlefleet and iTrain. Not to mention his gorgeous portfolio.

Man, this would be a very enjoyable game if only it wasn't so slow. I'm a very impatient person and really can't stand waiting so long for the computer to make a freaking move. I swear, it's like playing chess with my grandma.

Hey Jt,
The game should run very fast, depending on the speed of your computer, and if you have other javascript intensive pages running in the same browser. On my standard issue iPhone, the computer moves are almost immediate. Plus, did you try turning on 'Fast' mode in the options panel?

I love this game - shows you how much power there is in readily available web tools. I'll be playing this on a daily basis! Plus, it is super fast on my iPhone, so I have no idea what the previous poster is talking about.
