Today the UK Register reports that Apple is preparing a WebApp catalog. WebApps are apparently already showing up in the recent downloads feed although the page they supposedly link to has not yet gone live. I downloaded the latest feeds page and did not personally find any reference to http://www.apple.com/webapps but maybe I just checked at the wrong time. If you find otherwise, let us know in the comments. An official Web 2.0 apps feed would be very nice indeed.
Thanks to Erwin Harte.

This is the third iPhone post in 1 hour, and this is just a rumor -- please, enough with the iPhone overload already! Yeesh. I own an iPhone and I don't care to see this many iPhone posts. You'd think Apple was nothing but a mobile phone company at this point.

@1: Not a rumor, I checked it out myself, here's an example from the feed.
iHome
from Downloads - Mac OS X - Just Added
About iHome
iHome is a sort-of “Application Launcher” for your iPhone, It allows you to see and use all of the most used web applications for the iPhone. iHome is smart in the way that it knows all of the most popular iPhone apps currently being developed. No need to configure all of the iPhone apps as a bookmark in Safari, just set iHome has your main page.
http://www.apple.com/webapps/utilities/ihome.html
That's where it links. So don't tell me it's a rumor, it's a fact, their RSS feed is already getting entries from the nonexistent webapps area.

Nothing at the site right now but I bookmarked it just incase.
I don't understand the above comment, similar to another post yesterday. I agree that there is iphone / touch overload right now but it's also cutting edge hardware that's just been released and for fanboys like myself I can't get enough.
What I wanted to reply yesterday and didn't (to the other artical) Nobody is making you surf to or read the content on pages like tuaw.com it's a bit moot to complain on the content.
Least this is one persons opinion.
Start the flaming.... NOW!

My God, a web page with links to other web pages.
The greatest application in years, I have seen the Light.
How much did it cost to develop?
[tired of iPhone hype mode off]

I'd be willing to bet that nobody forced you to READ this story, or for that matter forced you to OPEN the story add a useless comment, type in that hard to remember password, and press the "Add Your Comments" button.
See, the beauty of this thing called the "internet" is that you can skip content you don't want to see - amazing.

I doubt more iPhone posts means less Mac posts, so who cares?
I don't own an AppleTV, but enjoyed reading about ATV hacking as well.

I've been looking for a comprehensive list of webapps. So far it's just blog posts recommending this or that. I'm glad this is coming down the pipes. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

If you check the RSS feed there is a list of apps "for iPhone". So far they don't link to anything but hopefully that will be updated soon.

I discovered this site on my ipod touch and I now do 50% of my surfing on this device. I am totally hooked. I surf more, and I come back and refresh this page every hour. Mobile surfing has never been funner/cooler. I love the touch as an ipod too but I really got this to surf and reseach stuff on the web. I can't wait for the hack so I can see what else this littlle bad boy can do, and I hope what I read about the hacks and flash coming soon are true.
