iPhone WebApps directory is live

Today, Apple has launched its WebApps directory after much anticipation. The new site highlights many of the best pages and web applications that have been built specifically for the iPod touch and iPhone. Categories span games, news, productivity and more.
In addition, Apple has provided links for Web developers that show how to best develop for Apple mobile platforms and how to submit your WebApp for inclusion in the Apple directory.
Read the complete Apple Press Release here.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

Am I blind? wheres the iphone version of the directory? Am I missing something. It seems that an Apple made web directory should have an iPhone version and according to the picture above it looks like it does

How about a web app that lets you vote for your favorite 3rd party native app?

Ironically, Apple's Web Apps website isn't a web app. A missed opportunity if you ask me.

Ridiculous, Apple. You guys used to be so much better than this. Make a version that looks and feels like all the other apps you have on the iphone. Cascading menus, etc.
This page looks great on desktop Safari, and fits right in with the rest of the Apple Mothership, but it is decidedly less-than-iPhone-friendly.

Here's a web app I'd love to see on the iPod Touch - bear with me, it's a little fantastical - well basically what it does is recreate all of the functionality of the Mail programme that you get on a Mac, you know the Inbox, the ability to send and receive messages etc... BUT, it does it on a web page!
I know! Amazing idea isn't it?! I'm thinking of calling it 'Web-mail' and if one of you clever boffins can get it working on an iPod touch then, well I can't speak for anyone else, but it certainly something I would pay for.
Ooops silly me, I already do!

So, Apple launched a part of their website that is specifically made for being viewed on an iPod touch or iPhone, and they chose NOT to design it specifically for being viewed on an iPod touch or an iPhone? What's the point?
What's going on up in Cupertino?

I also want a Web App (I think they deserve capitals) that posts regular excerpts from the Erica Sadun tome entitled 'Eight Great Ways to Get the Most from Your Zune'...

It is too bad even the best apps are still crap over EDGE or in areas where there is no signal/wifi.

@picaso
That's hilarious!
99% chance it's just a designers error... or, maybe it's a subtle chance for someone at Apple to say "it's AT&T that's holding back the iTouch from being the best iPod!"

Wow! A webapp that calculates a tip!
Hey apple, here's a tip - open the phone up and let third parties do something with it besides building these lame-ass webapps!

Jedi mind trick: 3rd party apps are not the apps you're looking for.
