More new iPhone ads up on Apple.com

As TV watchers may have noticed this evening, three more 'stories' ads are now playing for the iPhone; Apple has just posted the new spots at http://www.apple.com/iphone/ads/ for your viewing pleasure.

The new true-life participants are Bryce, Kristin and Ken. Interestingly, Kristin and Ken both mention their websites in their ads. Kristin, an NYC ballet dancer, blogs at TheWinger.com about her career in the performing arts, and specifically mentions her "secret California trips" in blogging about her iPhone ad.

Ken, a theater producer of Off-Broadway fare including Awesome 80s Prom and Altar Boyz! (music by Michael Patrick Walker, my college friend and fellow Scotch 'n' Soda-ite... small world) talks about his iPhone use in keeping tabs on the fansite for his current project, My First Time (slightly NSFW) which is about exactly what you think it's about.

Meanwhile, pilot Bryce has the most practical use for his iPhone -- correcting an overly-pessimistic weather forecast that was keeping his flight grounded. Nicely done.

Thanks Bobman & Dave C.

If only it were that simple..

Normally it's like...

"I wanted to go to this webpage and when I wanted to activate the wifi it said: unable to connect to network, please type in password or select another network."

Or

When I wanted to go to this webpage: sorry edge could not be activated.

@Steve Simitzis: Thank you! I was beginning to think I was the only one who noticed there are *no* women in Apple ads. I don't know what that says about who they think their market is, but it was really getting on my nerves.

#10 Hahaha.

I bet that ballet dancer set up an auto email receiver that posts images to her blog in context to the post she is putting online... yup.

Quite frankly, having an ad where someone claims to upload pictures to their blog using their iPhone is akin to false advertising. Sure you *could* do it, but it is going to require additional supporting applications and advanced server administration knowledge. But seeing that these ads are aimed to the average Joe... yea, more Apple BS.

Oh you know what else? Apple laptops have webcams built in! Take that PC!

I like these ads, but part of me misses the hand models, and the focus on the phone itself. These ones talk about features, but don't actually show it happening (thus causing confusion with the emailing to blogs.) But the focus on people is also cool.

David, why would they bother? They have to be "on location" for the final scene, why fake it?

@Quix: My guess would be they shot this in studio using a key and fill and then just gave it a harsh side/backlight to simulate the sun. They did a great job making it look realistic, but it still looks controlled to me.

These three are definitely better than the first three. The first three seemed like actors pretending to be Joe Blow of the street. These new three definitely feel like the “real” people, especially when they mention their own websites. I looked at the winger.com. Sure enough, Kristen is a real ballet dancer with a real blog, and not some paid acctress pretending to be your average Joe... or Jane.

For those of you who don't know how to upload photos to the web site right off your phone, take a look at the .mac web gallery, I think that's how Kristin upload her photos to her site.
