Finally. The Canadian iPhone. Joe Maur pointed me to this new iPhone for the Holidays page at the Apple Canada online store. So the wait is over. Soon, you'll be able to pay way too much to Rogers for your very own personal iPhone--although we have yet to find plan specifics. Happy Holidays, Canada!
Thanks Joe
Update: Readers are saying that this is just a copied US store page and shouldn't be taken as an actual Canadian release. My bad.

Canada soon... UK and Germany today, France by the end of the month... It's going to be an interesting quarter for Apple. It will be interesting to see if the new countries are going to make a difference in Apple quarterly results.
In addition what will be more interesting will be the iPhone in France since you will be able then to purchase an official unlock iPhone -more expensive yes but official.

This is just the Canadian version of the American page:
http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?node=campaigns/holiday/iphone
It doesn't mean a thing in terms of iPhone availability. Can't we just accept that Apple copies and pastes their web pages by now, and wait until we get a real announcement?

If I believe this, do I also believe it costs $0?

Eventually they will be in Canada, but who knows at what cost. Thanks to all the hard workers out there that made it possible for me to get my iPhone on the Rogers system months ago. Sure, I don't have a data plan with Rogers right now, and depending on what the price will be I most likely won't get one. If the rates don't change, I can easily see this costing me $150-$200 a month.

I'm a HUGE Apple supporter... but not until they bring the Canadian prices DOWN to the US prices! Our dollar is worth 1.07 US so I REFUSE to pay $349 Cdn for an AppleTV when it's $299 US!
TAKE NOTE APPLE !

What's telling is that you can't even get to this page without changing the US store's URL.

I just. Broke down and picked up the iPod touch... I live on the east coast of Canada, and truth be told, Rogers Cell coverage just plain blows over here. And unless something is done about the exorbinant data fee with rogers here in Canada I really don't see the iPhone doung well here... What we really need is another GSM based company to invest in their own cell towers to encourage some movement in the data plan prices...
Right now the iPod touch is filling the void where I would like the iPhone to be... With a little hacking of course...

My Canadian iPhone is working splendidly! Especially with my "virtually unlimited data" retention plan that Rogers gave me for threatening to leave for greener (Telus ulimited internet) pastures.

BTW Erica,
I liked your Isles stealing the Rangers' post-game salute to the fans earlier this week! Makes me want to support them just that little bit more. That, and Ted Nolan is a pimp.
Also, the iPhone is in Rogers purgatory, just like North American local calling (or even within Canada) at a reasonable rate.

You can make any store show that page. Just cut and paste everything after RSLID into the store of your choice. For instance... iPhone COMING TO TAIWAN!
