1.1.2 Jailbreak Software Released

Conceited Software/TouchFree has just released its GUI jailbreak. This is the "final bit" that performs the jailbreak after you run OktoPrep in 1.1.1 and then upgrade to 1.1.2. The Software runs under OS X and Windows, grabs the data off your iPod touch or iPhone, upgrades it with the Jailbreak, installs Installer.app and SSH.app, and reloads it back to your unit. The whole procedure takes about 10 minutes and after, you have a fully updated 1.1.2 jailbroken system.
You will need to downgrade to 1.1.1 if you bought a system with 1.1.2 already installed. This is discussed in the README.txt file in the zip and at the this jailbreakme.com webpage. This procedure is only for iTunes-activated iTunes and iPod touches--"hactivated" iPhones need not apply. That's because once you upgrade to 1.1.2, you'll need to be able to have a phone that's activated before running the program.
You can read more about my personal 1.1.2 jailbreaking in this earlier post.
Update: If you're missing the readline library (i.e. iPhuc doesn't work for you), you can download it here. Extract the zip to your Desktop, then in Terminal, type "sudo cp ~/Desktop/opt/local/lib/libreadline.5.2.dylib /opt/local/lib". You may need to sudo mkdir the /opt/local/lib folder first.
Update: Intel Only. (Thanks SmileyDude)

I don't know why, but this doesn't make any sense to me:
"This procedure is only for iTunes-activated iTunes and iPod touches--"hactivated" iPhones need not apply. That's because once you upgrade to 1.1.2, you'll need to be able to have a phone that's activated before running the program."

I am getting "Unable to access jarfile jailbreak.jar," although the file is clearly in the same dir as the "osx" executable. Any fix?

I am also getting the "Unable to access jarfile jailbreak.jar" in Terminal when I run the "osx" file. Is anyone else getting this?

YES!!! It worked perfectly. Just a tip when running the Jailbreak once it finishes uploading the patched image and you are left with a flashing cursor with no activity...just close it and reboot your iPhone. Your iPhone will start up, reboot itself and then you're set.
Thanks to all of those who worked on this!
Did this on Windows.

hrmm.. too bad a jailbreak was wasted on a upgrade that doesn't really do anything. :\ (unless those guys have a bunch in their pockets that apple doesn't already know about)

Ok, looks like I got it to work. Unfortunately, simply clicking the "osx" executable is not going to work. If you're not in Terminal, and not in the right Current Working Directory (CWD), that file is not going to find the JAR file it needs. What yall need to do this:
Download and extract the file to your Desktop. It should extract to something called "1".
Now, open Terminal, at the prompt, type: cd ~/Desktop/1
This will put you in the "1" folder, and allow "osx" to see the JAR file (hint: If you type: pwd, you should see the path to the "1" folder).
Now, execute "osx" by typing: ./osx
You should see a lot of crazy shit go by for a WHILE, then it will reboot twice and you should be done. Now go learn some UNIX!

So, wait, this is a GUI jailbreak? Why is it all command-line? :)

it means that any activator programs for 1.1.1 won't work with 1.1.2 so you need a real att account to activate your phone

So I already have my iTouch hacked, and have installed the iPhone Apps (Notes, Mail, Maps, Weather, Stocks), when I run this and do the 1.1.2 upgrade will the stuff that I already have on my touch get deleted?

Anybody have an idea why my iTunes 7.5 is reporting that 1.1.1 is the current version?

@ #10
I keep getting the error:
"Cannot connect to your device: Please plug your iPod/iPhone into your computer. If you're still having trouble, restart the computer, reconnect the device and try again."
What I am doing wrong? It let's me access jailbreak but stops me at the error. I've tried it with and w/o trying to install SSH.
