1.1.2 Jailbreak Software Released

Conceited Software/TouchFree has just released its GUI jailbreak. This is the "final bit" that performs the jailbreak after you run OktoPrep in 1.1.1 and then upgrade to 1.1.2. The Software runs under OS X and Windows, grabs the data off your iPod touch or iPhone, upgrades it with the Jailbreak, installs Installer.app and SSH.app, and reloads it back to your unit. The whole procedure takes about 10 minutes and after, you have a fully updated 1.1.2 jailbroken system.
You will need to downgrade to 1.1.1 if you bought a system with 1.1.2 already installed. This is discussed in the README.txt file in the zip and at the this jailbreakme.com webpage. This procedure is only for iTunes-activated iTunes and iPod touches--"hactivated" iPhones need not apply. That's because once you upgrade to 1.1.2, you'll need to be able to have a phone that's activated before running the program.
You can read more about my personal 1.1.2 jailbreaking in this earlier post.
Update: If you're missing the readline library (i.e. iPhuc doesn't work for you), you can download it here. Extract the zip to your Desktop, then in Terminal, type "sudo cp ~/Desktop/opt/local/lib/libreadline.5.2.dylib /opt/local/lib". You may need to sudo mkdir the /opt/local/lib folder first.
Update: Intel Only. (Thanks SmileyDude)

"Cannot connect to your device: Please plug your iPod/iPhone into your computer. If you're still having trouble, restart the computer, reconnect the device and try again."
message.
I tried putting that libreadline.5.2... file into /usr/dir/lib or whatever folder but I dont have one!
I have a PC running Vista just so you know.
If you can email me the solution.

Used Jailbreak from Conceited. 1st time made a mistake and then did it again. Strangely, it tells me in step 2a to dial a Zero on the phone. That zero nows turns into a One (1).when i hit call Everything worked out , But why that 1???
Does someone know if it can work with the french network??
December 17 2007 at 4:24 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI finally got it to work!!
I have a macbook and after downgrading, jailbreaking, running oktoprep, installing the update and trying to run the touchfree jailbreak I kept getting the "cannot launch iphuc" message. I tried everything people mentioned and could never get it to work. launching it through the terminal left me with the cannot connect to your device message and I am using itunes 7.4
when i would try to run the sudo command lines or usr/local/lib to put the extra file in the folder it would tell me the folder did not exist and I couldn't seem to get the mkdir to work either.
Anyway, if you read the article at the top and download the zip file under update (opt.zip) you might be able to do what I did. After unzipping to my desktop I opened up my applications folder. I dragged and dropped the opt folder right onto the Macintosh HD. After that I was able to go into the jailbreak folder and double click the jailbreak.jar and it worked!
I also had the jailbreak folder directly on my hard drive too but I dont think that makes a difference. I have done it a couple of times now after putting the opt folder on my hard drive and it has worked fine.
I just thought this might help someone out there who is having this problem. Thanks to everyone who is posting and helping guide people through issues like these.
Hi, i have a new iPod like Sushi with 1.1.2 firmware, i successfully got into 1.1 version but not 1.1.1, it appears to be a bug, error number 5 when i try downgrading (or upgrading i don't know) from 1.1 to 1.1.1.
How could i do to operate this stage ?
Please answer me as soon as possible by mail or other way.
Thanks in advance.
