1.1.2 Jailbreak updated to include activation, PPC support
The latest release of the 1.1.2 jailbreak now includes activation (the bit that allows you to use the phone without the connect-to-iTunes screen even if you don't have an AT&T account), YouTube support, PowerPC support and, best of all, a statically compiled readline -- so you don't need that libreadline library installed as a separate piece. You can read more about the jailbreak and download the zip file from its Conceited Software page.

I got a new iPhone yesterday and followed the readme text with this download.
I upgraded to 1.1.2 and then realized I needed to be at 1.1.1 for anySIM to work so I downgraded and I now have version 1.1.1 but I also have firmware 04-02-13!!!! how can I get the calling features to work?
hi i have 1.1.1 jailbroken iphone. No anysim or anytypes of sim hacks. Lately i have been having this major problem of my iphone continually crashing and eventually restarting itself. I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I wanted to restore my iphone but it was saying it will update it to 1.1.2. i have itunes 7.4 not 7.5 yet. Any suggestions?

I've been having the same problem lately (on 1.1.1 iphone.) So I decided to take a chance and upgraded to 1.1.2 today, which worked fine (after a lot of patience). Then I started loading up programs, and the problem seemed to go away...so I loaded more stuff. While doing so, up popped a message that I was running low on memory, and suggested that I delete some videos or pictures. Ignored it. Started playing some games (worked fine for a while) and the problem eventually came back, started freezing, crashing, restarting, all of it. I deleted a movie (about 750mb or so) and I don't seem to be having the problem any more, I'm thinking it may be a memory issue? Hope this helps...
This site (TUAW) seems to have a wealth of information, but seems to be mostly questions, pleas for help, etc. with not too many answers or responses, maybe I'm just not seeing them.
Patrick,
After a little while, the problem came back, so deleting some stuff didn't work, however, I found in another post a suggestion to turn off "Dim Wallpaper" in SummerBoard prefs under advanced. I did this last week, and that seems to have fixed the problem, since then, no programs have quit, nor has the iphone rebooted itself. Hope this helps.

Hi all,
Is anyone else having problems downgrading? If I follow the instructions to get to DFU mode I _always_ get "Unknown error (1)" after the chosen .ipfw file is selected and extracted. I have tried iT 7.5 and 7.4 on both PPC and WinXP. All give very consistant (but useless) results. This all began after oktoprep on my new 1.1.1 iTouch and then having the PC freak during the 1.1.2 restore. 1.1.2 is fine, but I really want Books on this unit.
I have tried downgrading to both 1.1.1 and 1.0.2 with identical results.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! TIA

If the jailbreak.jar is hanging forever, make sure that you close out of itunes before running it. After you have closed out of itunes run jailbreak.jar and try booting it out again. It should work instantly.
November 27 2007 at 1:45 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOn a Mac, the 1.1.2 jailbreak.zip needs to be extracted (unzipped) and the resulting folder placed in the /tmp/ directory before you can run jailbreak.jar. You can find the location of the directory by using the Go menu in the Finder (or the keyboard (Command-shift-G) and typing /tmp/. Drag the folder in and then launch jailbreak.jar.

add i.unlock.no to apptapp sources, then install iworld under tweaks 1.1.2, reboot, then run iworld, select your country and reboot. worked for me.

Discovered why window.bat failed. I did not have Java loaded on my windows program. You must have java for it to work.
November 21 2007 at 10:01 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIn order to downgrade to 1.1.1 when I press boot from recovery on jailbreak.jar it takes forever, i've been waiting here for over an hour and the progress is only about a third trough and it says "sending commands" I doubt this is normal. How long should the boot from recovery uselly take?
