Fixing YouTube on your Jailbroken iPhone
TUAW reader Mauro writes that after running the 1.1.2 jailbreak, YouTube no longer works. He asks: "Any idea how to solve this problem?" Here is a simple guide from Ging of the South that will help.
The guide walks you through editing a particular property list to add a device certificate that authorizes your iPhone or iPod touch. The Ging page provides the certificate text for you to paste into Property List Editor. If you're not on a Mac, you can use my plutil utility to convert the file to XML format and then edit it with your favorite text editor.
Thanks Drudge

I've been using the iPhone in México and there are already google maps for my city but it refuses to show them, I just get satellite view and not the street view.
Any way to fix this?
Thanks

Why isn't this tweak in Installer.app?

Nobody can fix youtube. It's heart's stopped for two long, all that's going through it's brain are ads and AMVs now...
I hope it's useful to somebody.

It appears I've lost the ability to choose the correct three-letter word. I apologize insincerely.

Never had a problem with a UK jailbroken iPhone and YouTube. Now DivX support and access to Stage6 would be cool.

Didn't work for me. I'm still getting "Cannot connect to YouTube." with the OK button. They don't specifically mention for firmware 1.1.2. In fact they say for 1.0.2. There must either be some small difference in 1.1.2 that prevents this method from working, or, I still have something set up incorrectly in my phone. I have installed the 3 new files and have copied the certification string so that the Data_ark.plist and Activation_Records match.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Jim.

PC user here and I have no idea how to use the utility you prescribed:
"If you're not on a Mac, you can use my plutil utility to convert the file to XML format and then edit it with your favorite text editor."
could you provide a little more instruction? I'm pretty stuck here..

It seems like "jailbroken" means two different things, depending who is writing. In my case, my phone is "jailbroken" in the sense that I've got Installer running under 1.1.2 but have no problems with YouTube. I think some folks are calling what I call "unlocking" by the name "jailbreaking." Unlocking is the process of unlocking the SIM on the phone for non-AT&T access. If you've done that, it's necessary to use the procedure suggested by Ging of the South to restore YouTube access.

You can add http://limitededitioniphone.com/lei.xml as a source in installer and then just install the youtube fix. You can also goto: http://limitededitioniphone.com/youtube-not-working-on-your-iphone-steps-to-fix/ if you need more help

Heres the fix - instead of hacking your iPhone use it normally. There you go.
