Google embiggens iPhone services with single-screen UI

I've been checking my dictionary, but it's hard to find an adequately cromulent word to describe the dramatic enbiggening embiggening of Google's iPhone-specific services. The big G now offers single-screen access to Gmail, Calendar, and Reader among other services, as well as the homerific Search capability, when accessed on iPhones and iPod touches. Rather than introubulating their service, this screen redesign applies a debigulator to the overall Google experience and allows you to use many of the most belovedest features directly from a single screen.

This is cool, but they leave the top frame on (or however it works) if you use reader to go to a non-mobile-formatted website, which prevents you from resizing the new webpage. They need to sort that out pronto because resizing is a key feature of the safari that makes webpages readable.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I won't use this interface because as far as I can tell, it doesn't encrypt anything. It definitely doesn't encrypt the main search page, and when I tried changing the url to https, which works in regular gmail/igoogle, it didn't take.

:(

Has anyone figured out a way to have safari search the google mobile site instead of the regular google site?

Nice concept, but I just haven't been able to get cookies to stick on my iPhone. I have tried with My Yahoo, and the cookies seem to disappear making my re-login after a couple of hours.

Normally I think the big G can do no wrong, but I love my iGoogle page too much! Where did my rss feeds go on the iPhone? Where I say?!?
