Google embiggens iPhone services with single-screen UI
I've been checking my dictionary, but it's hard to find an adequately cromulent word to describe the dramatic enbiggening embiggening of Google's iPhone-specific services. The big G now offers single-screen access to Gmail, Calendar, and Reader among other services, as well as the homerific Search capability, when accessed on iPhones and iPod touches. Rather than introubulating their service, this screen redesign applies a debigulator to the overall Google experience and allows you to use many of the most belovedest features directly from a single screen.

Wow Simpson-tastic post. Troy McClure was an awsome character...such a shame.

You meant embiggening, right? http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/embiggen

Kinda off topic, but sorta relates; yahoo for me on my touch is not reformatting to the iphone version, even at mobile yahoo. I remember having it before but after I restored it I just get the cell phone version of the mobile yahoo. Anyone have an iPod touch that displays the iphone interface of yahoo? Or is there a specific link or anything to get there? Thanks.

I'm sure this new Google format will be very addicting. Perhaps Bush will use it to find ways to keep from emboldening the enemy...

This doesn't work for me. The only screen I can see is the home search screen. If I try to log in or select any other services, the search box disappears, but nothing else happens.

it's too bad that google analytics is still unusable on iphones...

its great that they have done this - but it also seems like the iphone is being used as a staging ground for UI changes in advance of the gphone.

Very useful. Now, someone refresh me with the technique for making this URL show up as an icon on my springboard. I would really like to be able to say "Hey, I need to google this..." and then click one button and be into the interweb.

Simply follow the instructions found here:

Works for me, I made Slashdot, Facebook, Daring Fireball and TUAW OpenURL apps:

that worked just fine. Thanks for the URL. I even made myself a nifty "Google" icon using Preview. Thanks go out to Erica Sadun!

Normally I think the big G can do no wrong, but I love my iGoogle page too much! Where did my rss feeds go on the iPhone? Where I say?!?

Nice concept, but I just haven't been able to get cookies to stick on my iPhone. I have tried with My Yahoo, and the cookies seem to disappear making my re-login after a couple of hours.
