Bill Clinton: iPhone User
You're standing in line when Bill Clinton, former US President, walks by with his Secret Service escort. Quick! What do you do? (1) Shake his hand. (2) Share a quick joke about Arkansas's night life. (3) Ask him to sign your iPhone.
If you're B. Ioffe, the answer is 3. He writes that President Clinton shared that he is an iPhone owner; Steve Jobs fixed him up with an iPhone for his personal use. This of course demands the question: If ex-Veep Al Gore is on Apple's Board of Directors, why didn't he snag his old buddy an iPhone himself? Or, as Ioffe writes, at least a prerelease 3G version.

"And of course our next president Ron Paul..."
I sure hope not... I actually have an appreciation for the work of folks at the EPA, NIEHS, OSHA...

Yikes! Let's hope not. He may be, but he's still the same old right-wing nutjob wrapped up in a "states' rights" package.

"the EPA, NIEHS, OSHA"
I bet you're none too fond of the IRS though.

Please people lets leave politics to Modern Studies, Poly Sci (I think), politicians, BBC News and NBC news. At least they can give an unbiassed answer. On the other-hand lets talk about who owns a iPhone, but leave decision 08 opinions out of it.

Yeah! And lets think about how this guy could sell that iphone on ebay and give it to the republican party!

Pretty cool, but I feel like I wouldn't want to use the phone for fear of erasing the autograph...

Well, it's pretty well known that there's no great love lost between Gore and the Clintons -- I don't think Bill and Al still hang out much these days.

I am glad this forum is just about Apple stuff, because I am sure Jobs is a flaming left winger, a species I cannot stand. However, as a marketing genius he can't be beat.

Every year the company I work for hosts an annual charity day, when it donates the day's worth of proceedings to various charity organizations. This year they raised £9.2 million for www.clintonfoundation.org, the foundation where William J. Clinton tirelessly fights with HIV/AIDS in middle income countries. Such much will bring the ex president of the United States to your office and have him be extra friendly.
We shared a 30 sec conversation about iPhones. The former President asked me what I think of the iPhone platform in general. I said that it is the most advanced mobile computing platform as of this day, that is actually also capable of making phone calls. To my surprise he revealed that he has one(IPhone) too. Steve Jobs gave him one when they met. To which I replied that he(Mr. Clinton) must be much better connected than I am. I had to get mine at the Apple Store.
We need strong supporters of the 3rd party application development for this heavenly gadget, and I was about to show Mr. Clinton all the beauty of the 3rd party software that my brothers already developed so far, but he was taken away by his secret service escort. That was too bad, it takes about 30 sec to jailbreak a phone equipped with proper firmware. He could spend numerous hours playing "lights off" or squashing bugs on the screen.

Well this certainly could not happen with the current president because;
A) He is technically illiterate. Dumbya can't even grasp the concept of e mail let alone operate an iPhone. I am sure he has people on staff to handle all that 'high tech' stuff
B) He is illiterate. It is unlikely that he carries around the rubber stamp containing his signature that he needs to use, because signing his name is a bigger task than sending e mail.
