Gear Live posts followup iPhone v1.1.3 video

You may recall that yesterday we posted a link to Gear Live's gallery of iPhone v1.1.3 snaps. In this season of rumors, we were trying to take it with a pinch of salt; we ended up with enough salt to make some Margaritas here at TUAW HQ, such was our skepticism -- and we were, it would seem, quite wrong to have doubted.

Thankfully Gear Live's Andru Edwards & Nate True decided to show us all what we can expect, with a full-blown video of the latest firmware, embedded after the break (all 8 minutes of it) with their permission. There's a tonne of exciting stuff shown off -- saving of pins on Google Maps, cell-tower triangulation with a single click (sweet!) and the long-missed hybrid Google Map (my preferred view). Throw in the re-arranging of the home screen and multiple SMS recipients (something we'd quite like to use over the holiday period) -- my iPhone is feeling very inadequate already.

Thanks Andru!

@ those who complain about the poor quality webcam vs the high quality camera.

If you pay attention to the demo video, it's done by Nate not Andru - for example when Nate sends Andru a multi-recipient SMS. I'm guessing Nate sent Andru the demo video and Andru is just narrating.

Either way, the screenshot of the firmware version is now posted.

So I´m at home with a fever, bored as hell and watching the videi of this guy moving icons around on his iphone. Anyone else see some inspiration from Nintendo DS game Zoo Keeper with the squirming/shaking icons? Or is my temperature way too high fir my brain...

Everybody is talking about how they are lying and faking, etc. but if you think about it, they are taking a huge risk. If they're wrong, or lying, their website will be labeled fake from now on. I think anybody with a brain would have thought of the long term effects before they posted something that would surely get this much attention.

He whines about how his webcam can't show us the 1.1.3 info page in Settings, but later in the video when he's using the better camera, he never shows it to us. (Yes, I know there's an image of that page, but no video.)

I'm going to try not to believe this, partially because I don't want my hopes up for something that may not happen and just be an advertisement for a declining site.

I don't really know what to believe.

Video, while cool, is beyond fake.

Notice how his finger cast no reflection on the highly reflective iPhone screen? It also looks pixelated, like a bad green screen. Completely phony looking.

Interesting minor update, but nothing I'd upgrade for. Still, it's only a 0.0.1.

I'm really hoping apple are working on a 2.0.0 with all the features we've been waiting for..

I want those JIGGLY icons!

Come on Apple it really is time to release the damn iPhone in Canada, and give us all the functionality that only 3rd party apps can.

3rd party apps.
Jiggly icons.
Canada.
16 gb memory.

I really dont care about so-called 3g - I find it pretty fast as it is.

There is something fishy about all this 1.1.3 video etc.
Where did these guys get the software/firmware upgrade from?

After the video, it seems like this is all very true, but does anyone else find it weird that gear live still has not posted the picture of the setting about page? I know the picture won't change anything, but why the delay???
