Redeem iTunes gift cards on-the-go

You can find this new "Redeem" option in the "Downloads" section of the Wi-Fi store. Just tap the button, enter in the code from the back of the gift card, and then click "Redeem" again, and the gift card will be added to your account.
[Update:] In the comments, some readers have noted that in the "Downloads" screen of the Wi-Fi Store, you will see your current iTunes account balance.

It displays the remaining credit amount at the top of the "downloads" page.

I've updated the post with that information. Thanks for mentioning it to me. Unfortunately, my iPhone doesn't show my iTunes credited balance (perhaps I need to buy something before it shows up).

Erica, any chance you could setup a proxy that allows you to view web data, and then run the google maps app to see what data it actually send to google when determining your location? that would be really neat to see imho.

If you want to see your account info but dont have an itunes gift card to redeem, just put in a dummy number. It will then ask for your password. It will tell you the number is not valid. Hit cancel and when it returns you to the downloads screen you will then see you account info like you would in itunes.
