Show floor video: Polar Bear Farm demos iPhone search utility

It takes a pretty strong constitution to exhibit native apps for the iPhone on the Macworld show floor (and probably a fairly hefty bankroll -- booths ain't free), but the Polar Bear Farm guys are up to the challenge. We caught a demo of the Search tool for iPhone, available only for jailbroken phones at the moment but expected to ship for unmodified devices shortly after the SDK becomes public. Check out the video for the details.

Polar Bear Farm have not stolen anything from anyone, far from it. We can't afford to put effort into fighting the negative and defamatory stuff some people get involved with. We're interested in creating useful and interesting applications for the iPhone, while helping the iPhone developer community, and having some fun along the way. We focus our resources into getting native iPhone development to a point where developers can legitimately write applications for the iPhone.

any way to get a search function like this WITHOUT jailbreaking the iPhone (and installing their Search application)?

Well, hello everyone; i just saw this and i cannot believe it. I also saw the comments abour Polar Bear stealingo code, and i have to say that it is all but TrUE. It is really sad, that they are taking the hardwork of Drunkbass and now trying to sell it. I was once in an IRC channel with Drunknbass and he mentioned to me about the video development, and this was way before this "people" from pbf stole his code, in fact i have a log of the conversation for sure, so I maybe will post it, For that reason i suggest to everyone to get the code for FREE from Big Boss repository; it works like a charm, you can record video with no time limit and has the coolest grafics i've seen in a long long time (a pirate killing the polar bear hahhahahaha) . Anyway, PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PEOPLE, THEY ARE CODE ROBBERS, IT IS NOT ETHICAL TO BY THEIR STUFF... Thanx

I built a free metasearch tool http://iphonedahead.com -- it allows you to enter one term and retain context while searching. Pretty useful and no hacks required. Also *NO* information about it is tracked. Your queries are private..

Have a nice day

It would be great if you guys could put a short summary of what this search thing does as well as a video. Videos on the web are a pain... it's a slow way to get information vs. reading, which I why I use the internet vs. TV, right?

Well in my opinion the people doing the accusing look far worse than PBF. That modified Showtime app is the epitime of childish behavior.

And where the heck *is* the "coming soon" version from drunknbass anyway? That's right the same place as his never-to-be-seen sequencer app.
