It would seem that the latest
iPhone/iPod touch
update is doing a bit more harm than good. There have been reports that the 1.1.3 firmware is far less stable than the previous 1.1.2. Some of the problems with 1.1.3 being reported:
- Error message during/after install of iTunes 7.6 and firmware 1.1.3
- Loss of sound output from the iPhone's built-in speakers
- Bluetooth devices that worked with 1.1.2 no longer work
- Mail problems
While these problems certainly don't sound good, there are some remedies that seem to work. For the loss of sound, you can try turning the phone off and then back on or plugging headphones in and out. iPhone Atlas has
listed some of the reported iPhone problems and some of the remedies that you can try. As always, be sure to check TUAW often for the latest iPhone news.

Same here. I get about one crash for every five minutes of browsing in Safari. Mail doesn't crash, but it is incredibly grouchy about getting new mail.

no problem for me
after 1.1.3 I reboot one times the iphone to get my edge network again.
no worries since.
safari is no more or less crashier , just like 1.1.2.
it means : sometimes it crashes. (for example animepaper.net , it's very unstable here)

I have had no problems upgrading or since then.
I have just noticed that *(in the UK at least) there is no longer a Phone Number shown on the Summary screen for iPhones. This was never present on O2 phones so perhaps they don't show that if one isn't present.
Any confirmation from US users?

Whats up with the 186.4 MB of "Other" data on the phone? Was that always there or is that something new with this update?
I am not the most observant person at times.

I haven't had any serious problems like those listed but I do feel like the keyboard lags behind now. Just a tiny amount but it is noticeable and slows me down.

I upgraded my my iPhone the day 1.1.3 came out an I have not had a single problem with it. I do not, however, use SMS much if it all so I can't speak for that update but no problems at all with all the other updates or with iTunes 7.6

I actually lose sound from the built-in speakers occasionally already---on a jailbroken 1.1.2 phone. Powering off and back on fixes the problem. I suspect that an app is somehow stealing control of the sound resources... with a jailbroken phone its easy to blame a third-party app, but with 1.1.3 it looks like the problem is from within...

this has been mentioned elsewhere, but it bears statement here. contacts and maps are no longer sync'ed. that is to say, when i press the address of a contact, and maps pops up, instead of showing the contact's pin it says ut can't find the address, but the address is listed correctly in the search.
anyone else?

I just tried this to see if I could replicate it, and it seems that if I'm on WiFi, Maps can't find addresses related to contacts. When I switch to Edge though it works as expected. Not sure if you're in this same situation, but I'm also on a terrible WiFi network at my current location.

My iPod Touch with 1.1.3 and the upgrade has been rock solid, although apparently there was a crashdump sent to Apple shortly after I upgraded it (I didn't notice it happen).

I had a really hairy time installing 1.1.3.
That f'ing "restore me" logo still gives me nightmares.
Now that it's done, my practiced ear tells me the ipod part of the phone is noticeably not as loud as before.
wonder if anyone else has noticed this?

im having trouble... the sound sometimes wont come out of the ear-speaker thing when you put it up to your head the fix is pluging and then unplugging headphones into the jack three times to make it work (that was apple cares suggested fix not mine!)

I noticed last night I was unable to email a URL to a friend. It would come up with the email auto complete but I couldn't select the email and move on to actually mail it - even when I completely typed out the name.
