Lineform 1.5 update lost in the Macworld shuffle
Chalk this one up to bad press release timing: we neglected to note the release of a major update to Freeverse's Lineform vector art application, announced on January 14 (otherwise known as Steve's Eve). The new version includes full Leopard support and adds hooks for drawing tablet pressure sensitivity, plus many smaller feature and performance updates.Lineform 1.5 is $79.95 either direct from Freeverse or in convenient boxed form via Apple or Amazon. The 8.1 MB demo is downloadable as well. If you're a forlorn Freehand veteran or facing off sticker shock for Illustrator, take a look.Lineform 1.5 release notes (via freeverse.com)

LineForm is an excelent app for illustration and does a great job to replace adobe illustration. It is very fast and it is far better in interface and user friendly. The learning curve is also very fast. However the major lack for me is the absence of capability to read and write adobe illustrator files. I hope such features will be add in the near future.
A great app with one flaw: it prevents a monopolistic suit filing against Adobe since CorelDraw is dead and Freehand absorbed.
Ok, one more flaw: price. Yes, it should never be more than $50. Its been slowly creeping up $10/yr and now, its starting to add features that...WE DON'T NEED!
The future is bloat. Stop the future!
I'm not the best one to compare and contrast vector art apps, but I needed to quickly generate a company logo vector art and found it very easy to do with Lineform. In my particular case I needed to perform some intersection with some shapes, and it was very easy to do with Lineform. It seems like a reasonably robust app, which is about the most you can ask for given the price.
