Zibri's jailbreak works with iPhone 1.1.4
Our own Erica Sadun has confirmed that Zibri's jailbreak does work with the 1.1.4 update, released today. We're told that Nate True has tried it out with the new update installed, and that it does work.So big news for jailbreakers -- update away, because the jailbreak wasn't one of the "bugs" fixed. Although if this update is, as we suspect, laying the groundwork for the SDK release, we may not have to worry about applications not working on the phone too much longer.
Update: While some users have upgraded with no problems, Zibri is asking that users not upgrade until the tool can be thoroughly checked with the new firmware. "People who donated will receive the next version a day before everyone else. Expect a new version in 2 days (3 days for non-donors)," he says.

This is a bit premature, Mike. Zibri has already said on ziphone.org NOT to upgrade yet. The jailbreak works, but he can't be sure what it might break yet.
I would wait a couple of days for this to shake out, unless Exchange support is VITAL to you.

Totally premature IMO as well. I also checked Zibri's Blog
"DO NOT UPGRADE TO 1.1.4
ZiPhone will work with 1.1.4.
But I need to FULLY test it and do a few
adjustments.
Stay tuned.
(If you do you won't get any support from here)"
Good idea to wait a couple days!!

There now an option under Safari preferences to enable "PlugIns"! Do we smell Flash coming?

What does this mean for those of us not using AT&T?
DrDiesel said 2:36PM on 2-26-2008
That was in 1.1.3 as mentioned in the first thread of comments about the 1.1.4 upgrade.

Interesting. I'll take everyone's word for it. Just seems there would have been more hub-bub about it when it first appeared.

ummmm, the plugins switch has been on my iPod Touch since I got it in December.
tande said 2:41PM on 2-26-2008
Heck, I've still got 1.1.1 on my Touch and its got a plug in option there as well

Plugins has been around since time immemorial, it's never done anything though

Has anyone even thought about the possibility that apple is giving us 1.1.4 jailbroke with their okay?

Yeah, and to run any third-party apps on it, they have to be signed...
Wouldn't be much point jailbreaking if apps can't be run anyway unless signed by Apple...

It jailbroke my phone. I was at 1.1.3 and went to 1.1.4 and used Ziphone. I activated it with iTunes.

"Zibri's" jailbreak? Bullshit.

You're right, it is hard to believe that all the stolen stuff is now called "Zibri's". I can't wait for the day 1.1.5 comes out, when hopefully the Dev Team's jailbreak (stolen by Zibri) and Geohot's unlock (stolen by Zibri) won't work anymore, and he will be out of other people's stuff to sell.

I tried ZiPhone on my freshly recovered iPod Touch 16GB. It keeps hanging with an on-screen message "BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0". I restored it back to 1.1.3, tried it again, but to no avail. Again the BSD message.
I'll now restart my MacBook and try again, but I might be out of luck with this version of ZyPhone..

Doesn't work with 16GB Touch'es, I'd tried and fail too. Wait a couple of days ¡till it's supported.
