Jailbreak from iTunes
Guess what's come out of the pumpkin patch news service this time? A video that shows hackers using iTunes to restore an already-jailbroken and activated 1.1.4. The iPhone software bundle (the ipsw file) has been pre-hacked and updates through iTunes to a fully hacked system. Like other hack previews, this one is not yet ready for prime-time. The developers put this together as a proof-of-concept, but hey'll likely be releasing this method when the actual SDK comes out.
Congratulations again to Pumpkin, roxfan, Turbo, wizdaz, bgm, np101137 and the iPhone dev team.

Feeling cornered eh? :-)
Come on...you can do it, i'm sure! :-E
Do you accept the challenge or do i smell "bovine" in your words?
I challenge you!! Let's make it a dare!
Incorporate an unassigned custom firmware with the next version of ziphone. You can even put your pretty picture at boot.
Surely you can easily do it since it's using the exploit "you found".
P.S. And since this isn't in anyway related with a patched bootloader, don't tell us that is dangerous to mess with the S-Gold bootrom locations, etc...that excuse won't stick.
To the guy above,
BULLSHIT!
and what the hell is ziphone?
This is a FAKE.
Let me tell you how it works:
The bootloader is patched on the iphone not to check for signatures.
They did it using an exploit I FOUND and unfortunately told them when I still spoke to that bunch of people.
So that's why itunes accepts unsigned data.
I can give you the sources of that thing.
And anyhow it's completely USELESS.
Namaste!

lol, as usual you don't have the slightest idea of what this is.
Custom BL ...lol...
btw, ziphone sucks!
Don't you have a cult to mislead somewhere? Zebra if you try just a little harder you can be bigger than David Koresh or the Freemen or Marshall Applewhite all rolled into one. Strive to be #1.
Oh and your broken, copied and pasted typo ridden code blows chunks too.
Don't be mad at this awesome new exploit, just because you can't explain it yourself....
iPhone hackers are DT fanatics!
Rock on!
how come the capacity only says 3.5 gigs

"For ye of little faith who didn't like our previous video, here's a video of us restoring to a jailbroken and activated 1.1.4. Why use custom tools, when you can do it straight from Apple's pretty interface?"
thats what i like....no barriers...nothing can stop us...im happy we get to do this to Apple and At&t. If it was up to them, they'd probably charge every time you turn your iPhone on!
i buy a song and to make a ringtone i have to buy it again..!!?? Whats up with that?

promise a guide when its avaliable ..check it out

If this is a custom bootloader, is it better to be on BL4.6 or BL3.9 or does it matter? I'm guessing that the tools will allow you to be on either bootloader when it comes time to upload the custom one.
February 29 2008 at 1:28 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhat I'd like to know is; will an iPod Touch with the iPhone apps, lóse those apps if you hack it? I bought the iPhone apps but want more, but I don't know if they'll simply be deleted, or if I have to buy them again if I ever decide to re-legalise my iPod Touch :)
February 29 2008 at 12:38 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyUnfortunately, wouldn't Apple's just patch iTunes to do a crc/md5 type check on the firmware file before attempting the restore so that only official firmware files are allowed?

February 29 2008 at 11:52 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyusing itunes to jailbreak is just one of many side-effects of the basic idea
