Owning an iPhone myself , I would have to ask why not? Despite being called the Jesus phone it doesn't last longer than my old moto q9h with an extended battery. The iPhone is just phone... albiet a very well designed phone.. not a perfect one.

I just wanted to say that I have a phone for personal use and then I have one for work. I'd assume that to be the reason for others to carry two phones as well.

Believe it or not but the iPhone is my first cellphone and I'm out of college. I can't believe I finally got a cell phone let alone an iPhone. It's awesome!

From $78 to $97 that doesn't seem to bad to me - granted it's expensive either way. The reason being that paying that much extra for unlimited data is a pretty good deal. For Verizon, smartphones have a $45 per month data charge.
If I got an iPhone the bill would go up $20 pretty much and I'd get some more text messages (I don't text much). But if I had data on my current Windows Mobile phone I'd be saving $25 a month!

Some people don't even know what is that Logo behind the iPhone. It is rather a device for showing off among some people I know here. Errr.

you're not comparing apples to apples when you say your bill is only 30 bucks. as a standalone plan, it would come out to be significantly more expensive.

I fall into most of these categories. I have an iPhone and own a mac. I have 2 phones, one for work. I spend ~$80 a month for my phone. I definitely use email and the internet more on this than my old phone, and I switched from verizon to ATT to get the iPhone. Overall, I am satisfied with the iPhone. It is, IMO the best phone out there, but still suffers problems such as freezing every once in awhile, like every other phone i've ever had.
I used my phone quite a bit, and dont have any hand pain.

I wonder how the average bill is almost $100.... before i switched my phone to our corporate account, i was paying $72 after taxes.... granted i had only 100 SMS limit, but does such a majority have that huge add for more SMS on to push the average so high?
i never would have guessed... ah well
Back to counting down the days for Exchange support!

My condolences on waiting for Exchange support. Exchange is utter garbage and I wish Apple would have skipped Exchange support in favor of a solution that would work for the majority of companies NOT running Exchange.
The facts are that only about 40% of companies use Exchange - the other 40% use Notes and the other 20% use other (Groupwise, Scalix, etc).
Apple would have done better to license Blackberry from RIM (like Palm) as that's a solution most IT shops have implemented, functions on more e-mail platforms (Notes, Exchange, Groupwise, etc) and works better.
Exchange is utter garbage and not really fit for use by anyone. The only thing it has going for it is a "cool" mail client, Outlook. From a scalability, reliability, and managability standpoint, it SUCKS HARD.

@ItGuy: BlackBerry uses Exchange too. So why do you want to pay for a BlackBerry license when you can talk directly to Exchange?

I think the headline for this article is cropped. Shouldn't have "yet" at the end?

I really don't think of the iPhone as a gateway drug to Mac addiction.

Well, I appear to fall in every category except for the last two. I originally switched from Verizon to an AT&T Tilt but after 2 Tilts failed on me, I splurged on a reburb iphone 2 weeks ago, unlocked it to test it out, and was pleasantly surpised considering 2 of the features I used frequently on the Tilt are not available on the iPhone (GPS and Slingplayer). My 3rd Tilt (replaced under warranty) is now my backup.
I'm going to keep it unlocked for the time being so that I can still drop the sim into the Tilt for periodic use of the GPS and Slingplayer. If the next iPhone has GPS, a better bluetooth profile (A2DP?) and Sling has developed a version of their mobile player for it, the Tilt will be history.
