1Password: same great taste, new price
Password concierge and form-filler extraordinaire 1Password was upped to version 2.5.12 today with more features, changes and fixes than we could possibly list. Of course, current bleeding-edge users probably noticed that 2.6 Beta 6 also came out today with its own improvements and fixes, including the missing Fluid extension from Beta 5. Did we mention it supports Fluid these days?
Update: I'm quite obviously a month behind on my 1Password release notes. 2.6 Beta 6 did come out today, 2.5.12 came out... yes, a month ago. I apologize to anyone who was thrown into a time-warp due to my careless disregard of basic chronology.

I believe this may be available in the upcoming macUpdate bundle.

This is one Fantastic App, and probably on of the only apps out there that will ever get away with, and deserve a $5 increase.
Keep up the great work!

It's a good price but its rough to pay $29.95 and now $34.95 for each update. I have the MacHeist version and really enjoy it but I think $35 is a lot of money for an app that isn't a "lifetime" license. I don't know, I'm torn!

They're all free updates...where did you buy it? Certainly if you buy it at full price from their website, or with the last macheist bundle, you get all these updates at no cost.

I've had this update for a few weeks now.

I own the family license (which is now $50 USD) and it is worth every dollar.
I have 300+ passwords that I manage using 1Password and my wife/business partner has 100+.
I will admit that it took me awhile to understand and really use 1P, but once I got over the learning hump, I can't imagine going back to my old ways.

I am also having trouble learning how to use it. Any tips?

Hey! 1Password breaks Firefox 3, sorta. If you can correlate this, please confirm it on this bugzilla bug:

Thanks!

This is NOT news. Version 2.5.12 has been out since March 18th.
This is nothing but an ad for 1Password.

I bought 1Password ages ago, and since my switch to Mac it's been a godsend. I use the app daily, and with its recent sync to iphone addition its become even more valuable.
Props to Agile!

1Password is the best application in its class and certainly worth the price of admission for many.
With applications such as iLife and iWork retailing for $79, I personally can't justify spending $35 for password management. I will just stick to inferior Firefox and/or Mac OS X's built-in keychain/password.

I tried it when it was free, and I still didn't see any value in it. It doesn't seem to do anything that can't be done within Safari or Firefox anyway, but it adds another program running in the background to accomplish it.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I just don't have that much need for a separate program for password management. The keychain works fine on its own.

@ZeroCorpse,
I can understand your comments.
I my case, I have 20+ client for whom I am webmaster. Each client has:
Google login
SheerSEO (http://www.sheerseo.com) login
a login to a protected area on their website
Also, when I am testing a form, I can use 1Password to fill in the form again and again. Very convenient.
For my personal use, there are 30+ fora that I visit. Each with their own logins.

I was fortunate enough to get 1Password for free in last November's MacGems giveaway and will definitely be paying for the upgrade whenever the free updates run out.
First sample's always free, as they say.

I recently found 1Password, and ended up buying is almost solely because of the iPhone compatibility feature. SplashID was really the last thing I still missed from my prior palm device, and have found 1P to be a very good replacement for it.
I've since come to really appreciate 1P's other features.

I waited for a while to install it after getting it in a Heist, but it's awesome. I love the password auto-generation on top of all the rest.

Isn't this the same update that you wrote about on 19 March?

This looks cool, but what happens when you need to log onto something and you are away from your own computer? You wont be able to remember your passwords because pswd1 has been doing it for you.

That's where my.1password.com comes into play. It's what makes 1P so brilliant.
