Famed modder goes fruity with an Apple IIGS

Ben Heck, known for his many mods (including the recent PS3 laptop mod), has outdone himself by creating an Apple IIGS laptop. He started with an original Apple IIGS motherboard and added a custom acrylic keyboard, 15" color screen, and a CompactFlash-based hard disk. Most notably, a glowing blue Apple II logo was added.

Something similar has been done before.

Check out The Apple IIgs Portable Experiment which is from the 90's.

However, I think this is a better mod.

You refer to him as Ben Heck when his full name is actually Benjamin Heckendorn. Engadget can get away with shortening his name as they deal with him directly but what makes you think TUAW can?

This guy is AMAZING...but when is he going to get a host that can display his site and handle all the traffic he gets every time he does one of these sick mods? COME ON MAN!

Almost word-for-word the Engadget Article posted an hour before this one. Bravo, TUAW! Team Redundancy Team is an epic win.
