You'll remember that one of the game demos on the iPhone SDK was Sega's Super Monkey Ball franchise -- Spore got all the headlines, but Sega did show up with a pretty nice port of a game that could do very well on the iPhone. And when producer Ethan Einhorn sat down to talk to GameCyte about the port, he said all the things I want to hear: casual, pick up and play gaming on the iPhone, with interface innovation akin to the Wii and gaming performance comparable to other handheld gaming devices, even with a team that had never touched Cocoa and Open GL before.
There are some nice promises from Sega here for at least one cool game in the App Store in June. We'll continue to hope Sega (and Apple, and all of the other companies stepping up to develop games for the iPhone) can deliver.
I am honestly really excited for the iPhone 2.0 software.
I know I'm probably one of a very few, but I jailbroke (jailbreaked?) my iPhone Saturday afternoon and restored it Sunday morning.
Yes, the camera app was nice, and so was the doodling one, and Drummer was really fun, but I honestly had no use for any of them. It was great, but it wasn't practical (for me).
I think with the App Store, the true potential of the iPhone will finally be unleashed.
Have you guys played Sonic Rush on the DS? I think the general consensus is that Sonic on consoles = SUCK but Sonic on handhelds rocks. At least on Nintendo handhelds anyway (I never played Sonic Rivals yet). Nevertheless, I'm excited for what SEGA has in store for the iPhone. I think they do their best work on handhelds these days.
Yeah well I'm not that different. I didn't play the new sonic games either. When I said that I couldn't wait for a sonic game, I was actually thinking about the old schooled 2D sonic.
i can't wait until the new firmware comes out... i can't wait for that sonic game.. i hope they keep sonic game like they had mad long ago for sega dreamcast... that was fun
Want to drag a file to another folder and copy it instead of moving it? Press the Option key when you drag that file and it'll be duplicated rather than moved entirely.

I can, what with the quality of the recent games in the series.

I'm somewhat inclined to agree with Zach. The last Sonic game I enjoyed was Sonic Heroes.

Interesting comments at the end of the video. Let's start a rumour: Apple to buy Sega!
