iMac ATI Radeon HD Graphics Firmware Update 1.0.1
After this update is installed, you should see ROM version: 113-B2250L-259. You can download the update by opening Software Update (Apple menu > Software Update) on the affected system, or by downloading the installer package directly from Apple.
Apple also notes: To complete the firmware update process, please follow the instructions in the updater application (/Applications/Utilities/iMac ATI Radeon HD Graphics Firmware Update.app). The updater will launch automatically when the Installer closes.

I really wish they would release an update for the Late 2006 model of 24" iMacs with the nVidia 7300GT Graphics card. I can't run Leopard on it without rebooting every hour. It crashes when I open a Stack, it crashes when I use Expose, and it freezes every day. I get odd green lines across the screen that won't disappear, and splotches of color (cyan, magenta, and yellow) appear suddenly.
After I Hard Boot, no error log appears so I can't report it to Apple after it happens. There are forums on Apple's Support site, but they have yet to do anything about it. Any one know of a fix?

I've got the exact same model, with the exact same problems. I've found that if I pump up the fan speeds with the Fan Control control panel, it helps (but doesn't fix) the problem.

No updates available for my 20" aluminum iMac with an ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT
And also, as a bunch of people out there, cannot install bootcamp 2.1

Same here ??
I don't imagine that Apple would stagger the update for any reason(?)

I downloaded the installer and upon running it says my 20 in Alu iMac's ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT doesn't need the update. Kinda weird.

I have an iMac 24" with the HD 2600 Pro and it won't work for me either.
I even verified the ROM version I have (113-B2250F-219) appears to be less then the new one Apple says it will be (113-B2250L-259).
Either this installer's broke, or there are more criteria that Apple hasn't mentioned.

Guys, did you read the post carefully?
"This does affect the newly released iMacs."
Are you sure you bought your iMacs yesterday? ;-)

It doesn't say, "This ONLY affects the newly released iMacs."
So I think there's still some confusion. Even if you didn't just buy your iMac yesterday.

I sure did! "Does affect" ≠ "Only affects"

To the guy above with the green lines and freezing, have the machine sent in for service! I had an iMac that did this, luckily i noticed within the first week and had apple swap it. The replacement has been 100% rock solid ever since. Best computer ever.
You have a dud, i'm sorry to say.

Well I have a 17" intel iMac, Core Duo model. With ATI X1600, I get massive video corruption after they system has been running for some time, it seems to coincide with me stressing the graphics system, sadly mine has been away for a new logic board but came back the same!!
See my photos of the corruption here:-

Thanks! I just need to get my lazy butt over to the repair center. Glad to know that Apple will fix it understandably. Does anyone know off-hand if you can upgrade parts while it's in service? Like, could I upgrade from a 7300GT to a 7600GT?

i have a 24" 2.8ghz with 2600 pro, it also tells me that i do not need this update. i bought it in september of '07.
apple's site does say that the requirements are: "Mac OS X 10.5.2 or later
AND iMac Early 2008 (late April 2008)" which I am not. i assume we should all just read apple's site with a more tuned eye.
