iPhone dev program opened worldwide? First report!

I don't know if this is going to pan out or not, but TUAW reader Skaro (exterminate!) reports that he's been accepted into the iPhone developer program. Not a big deal until you realize that he lives in the UK and paid up his £59 fees.
If true, this is huge. Many important 3rd party Apple developers are located throughout the world. Are you an out-of-States developer who's gotten your acceptance email? Please let us know.

OFFTOPIC:
Holy crap. I'm really getting tired of those full screen flash ads that popup after scrolling through and rating comments.
come on tuaw, be LESS obtrusive when serving ads to your readers.

Is the digg link a new addition for all TUAW posts or just this one? I don't recall seeing it on other posts on here.

Hi Matthew:
We add the digg link when we feel a post is particularly newsworthy or of special interest.

Hi Pat --
We appreciate the tip; domestic acceptances for the program have been going out for a while now
http://www.tuaw.com/2008/03/19/first-iphone-developer-acceptances-confirmed/
so it didn't seem necessary to post it again.

Tør jeg spørre hva du planlegger å utvikle?
Håper det kommer en del programmer tilpasset norske forhold og etterhvert!

I'm not out side of US but my point being.. The developer program has opened up albeit slowly. I don't think location matters that much to apple. I've tried several times to register for the program and eventually last week got an email saying I was in the queue.
BTW: I did post several help requests about issues with the SDK and I have been browsing the dev center docs a lot(I was doing development using the simulator up till now), so I wonder if Apple targeted developers based on post/dev center activity?
That would seem like a smart way to prioritize things.

Does this come with access to the beta firmwares?

Yes, new SDK (4th beta), and Beta 2.0 firmware for iPhone and iTouch (organizer will not let you download apps on current released firmware, so new f/w is a must).
You are also able to get your Developer certificate for downloading apps to the Target.
Works great for me so far, I'm debugging from Xcode, my app is running on an iTouch.
Had some trouble using interface builder, it messed up my build but I was able to work around it, (not using Interface builder anymore, I'll get back to it later)

You do realize that talking about being accepted into the program or giving any details on the program is in violation of the NDA you agreed to when being inducted and will result in being removed. Might want to think twice about that one.

I think this is a great move by Apple.
They're definitely not known for their speed at getting things worldwide, so good on them.
