Even more supposed 3G iPhone shots

Engadget continues to do their part in fueling the fire of rumors that we'll see a second edition of the iPhone this summer. First they supposedly touched it themselves, then they nabbed some shape and spec hints, and now they've got yet another set of "leaked" photos, from a Chinese phone forum.

As usual, we have no idea if this is the real thing, a prototype, or just a little Photoshop fakery. The most obvious difference between what Engadget saw first and what's posted here is the color on the back, but then again, why wouldn't Apple release iPhones in different colors? They've certainly done that with iPods.

None of this guarantees anything, but I will say that if I was shopping for an iPhone, the AT&T memo would be enough for me to hold off on a purchase until mid-June at least. There is an iPhone update storm coming, and the thunder and lightning seem to be getting closer together.

There's no way it's real because it's white. It's as simple as that.

Another vote for an iPhone version of your site esp. with all these rumors of new iPhones coming and fake pix to stir up the masses.

I only have one request...please let the supposed front-facing cam be real! With it having 3G, this could be the device that finally launches AT&T's true 2-way video call service. It has supposed to be happening for a while, but currently they only have the gimmicky "video share". My best friend is deaf, and if she and I had one it would be a dream come true. (Texting is just not the same as signing.)

What I really want to know is what we're all going to call this thing when it lands. The 2G iPhone with 3G? "I'll take a 16G 2G 3G iPhone please."

If this is an iPhone, where's the camera on the back? I'm hoping for a BETTER camera, not a missing one.

"...it's back to Blackberry for me "

So what, you would ditch your current iPhone and go back to a Blackberry, if the new one was ugly? That's some kind of protest!

Yes, and no. I still have to use my Curve for speakerphone (iPhone speaker sucks for speakerphone) when on patrols. Since I can't obstruct my hearing that means no headsets. When I'm not working it's my iPhone all the way. However, when I do eventually get tired of the EDGE speeds and it comes down to a choice of the BB 9000 or this abomination in the pictures, I'll choose the BB 9000.

With all that said, I don't think these pics are of the next iPhone. It looks way too much like that 3rd party case that was shown earlier.

I hope these are fake shots. Because if they're not, it's back to Blackberry for me. Sorry, but that is all kinds of ugly compared to the current iPhone.

Would you guys PLEASE read the posts you are linking to? Engadget said the picture of the black plastic-backed iPhone they had was just an example of what the 3G iPhone COULD look like, and they said that one of their sources supposedly had a hands on, not the Engadget team themselves.

"First they supposedly touched it themselves"

Hey tuaw, how about making an iPhone optimized version of your site! It takes forever to load, even on wifi. You would think the unofficial apple webblog would be useable on the iPhone. Its not....

iPhone version please.
