3G iPhone Predictions
Now that it's more or less a given that a 3G model is on its way -- very shortly if rumors are to believed -- let's have a little fun speccing the thing out. Sure there's absolutely no data so let your imagination guide you.
What's the price of this baby going to be? How much memory will be onboard and what will its battery life work out to? Better onboard camera? With Video? And how about "Back to My Mac"/"Back to My iPhone" features? What are you willing to pay per month for the glory of all that is new, shiny and iPhone? Let us know in the comments about your dream 3G iPhone.

how about this guys: could you imagine if the big surprise next week would be the combination of 2 ideas from Apple? What if the new 3G iPhone opened up lengthwise to reveal a super slim, fully touch screen Mac Tablet on the interior?!?!
-wouldn't that be something?!?!??
There are only 2 things I wanted from 3G iPhone.
1) Wifi bridge mode that allows its wifi to be an AP to the HSDPA broadband wireless internet connection.
Alternatively, put a mode where id USB connected to a Mac will act as LAN-bridge (it will charge the phone as well, cool).
2) Allow Apple Aluminium wireless BT keyboard to work on it. This was I ditch the HP for good.
How Come no one pointed out one of the most important user experience features: SEARCH. I hate not being able to search my email inbox and/or myphone contacts.
Iphone's functional value would go up way more with Search. it would literally save me an hour or two of scrolling and downloading lots f pages of email per month. the KATE (formerly Caterpillar) package has a variation of Contact search in their SmartDialer app. Maybe apple will take a que from them?
Also, I bet the subsidy rumor that's floating around will turn out to be for the non-3G ("old") iPhones. Why would anyone (AT&T I suppose, because they would be subsidizing the thing) pass up on that supposed $200/unit when the experience of releasing the first iPhone at a high prices taught us that lots and lots of people will pay full price?
And pretty much no one is probably reading these comments now since this is an old post, so me writing this is pointless. Let my voice not be heard!
Almost all of the previous comments plus
- a tiny collapsable/foldable little stand in the back allowing the iPhone to stand on it's own to be viewed as a photo frame ,
- a miniature micro screen projector ( in next year's model , I think we should start the iPhone 3.0 requirements )
I think that might be useful the ability to place 2 sim cards, there are some phones that can do that these days, and what for? Well maybe somebody has 2 phones or work at a company where they provide a phone for they employees, and it would be great if you can merge 2 phones into just 1 big iphone!!!

I think 3G is the natural evolution, but other hardware changes would be nice. GPS would be pretty rad, as would an expandable, swappable memory (like Micro SD) slot. Full Bluetooth functionality would be great (Stereo out, A2DP, etc.). Pretty much what everyone else here wants - except I think "flashes" on cameraphones are 90% crap, so I say screw that.
That said, At what cost would we get all this? How fat would this thing be, especially with a battery that could power all that great functionality? I want something that fits in my pocket, not something I need to keep in a bag. THAT'S what makes the iPhone so great. And that's my #1 hope - that they keep it lean with a reasonable battery life.
I actually thought the .Mac integration was shown when the phone was first announced. What the hell did I watch then when i saw a 'send to .Mac' option? i'm sure it wasn't ilife 08....

3G (duh)
Tethering (currently need to carry a second phone just for this)
Other bluetooth - send pictures, contacts, ringtones, etc.
Delete SMS messages.
Ability to switch off the stupid speech bubbles. I'm not having a 'conversation' with my webserver, google calendar, facebook, etc. dammit!
Better battery life (2 days standby is not good enough if you're on holiday for 5 days..).
-3G is obvious, but HSUPA would be killer
-GPS is given
-Plastic back; metal is too slippery
-3.2MP camera w/ flash, zoom, and basic editing software
-vga video recording at 30fps, basic movie editing software
-stereo bluetooth
-MMS messaging
-Copy and Paste
-Documents synching/editing
-Add folder/hide icon/other home screen functions
-Flash video streaming support
-$299 8gb, $399 16gb, $499 32gb
