Celebrities and their Apple goodies
Recently, several of you tipped us on this video of US Senator Barak Obama quickly checking something on his iPhone (it happens around the 1:00 mark). It got us thinking of our favorite celebrity Apple product sightings.- Back in July of 2006, it was reported that Pope Benedict XVI had received an iPod nano from employees of Vatican Radio. The phrase "To His Holiness, Benedict XVI" was engraved on the back.
- Britain's Queen Elizabeth II purchased an iPod mini back in July of '05.
- U.S. Presidential adviser Karl Rove was seen using his iPhone in August of last year.
- Actress, singer and all-around role model Lindsay Lohan whipped out her iPhone shortly after they were first released in the U.S.

Good company? Do you mean Lindsey "DUI" Lohan or Pope Benedict "HIV" XVI?

I was sitting in a booth at Coors Field for the playoffs last year. (I was there to see the Red Sox of course.) Sitting a couple chairs over from me was Carrie Underwood typing on her iPhone.
For the first time, the iPhone looked ugly compared to it's surroundings.

And on a side note, she was totally nice. While we were sitting there, we used Jailbreakme.com to jailbreak her iPhone and install some apps on it. She loved it.

seriously.
Isn't there something like 4MM iPhones out there now, it's not like it's an exclusive device that only these 'celebrities' have. Besides don't these people flock to whatever is 'hip' at the moment? Where they not all carrying beadazzled Sidekicks just a year or so ago?

The whole cult of celebrity thing wears thin pretty quick, but kudos to hanging with Carrie, she seems to be the real deal.

btw, That stupid full screen ad that turns the whole page black is so damn annoying, and when you click skip, it plays the fuckin thing. wtf?

I have never understood why the typical person in America cares what a "celebrity" uses or doesn't use. It will not sway my opinion of them, nor my interest in any particular product.

How can you tell it is an iPhone? The quality of video is low. Plus,
it gives an strange blue glow. This would make me think that it was a
Blackberry (which typically hang from the belt).
