10.5.3 and Beta 6 SDK, Oh my!
Something interesting is hiding in 10.5.3. I don't know what it is. I don't know what it does. But if it's necessary to upgrade if you want to use the new SDK release, that means that there's a something that ties 10.5.3 to new iPhone features. So intrepid TUAW readers-slash-detectives, what can you find lurking in that new 10.5.3 firmware release that provides new and exciting iPhone functionality? Let us know in the comments.
My completely wild pulling-it-from-the-posterior guess is something to do with AppStore support -- or maybe the iNewton -- or maybe "back to my iPhone" support -- or... No really, I have no clue. Hopefully Uncle Steve will give us something nice for Keynotemas. Until then, see if you can figure it out.

Patience, it's only been a few hours since it became available..
I am looking forward to this year's WWDC more so than MacWorld. It can't come soon enough. (Yes, I need to be patient too)

we've seen the google contacts sync already built into 10.5.3, i'm crossing my fingers for a file manager to be built for use with the iphone with the launch of the iphone appstore quickly approaching.

Most likely going to be the final SDK until the keynote. Should be seeing that iPhone rev 2 rolling out within the next 2 to six weeks. Hopefully.

With 10.5.3, If you go to ~/system/library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources you will see the images of the computers you would find in the "shared" section (Hint: before a release of a newly designed computer, the image may appear there), also, there are two new images, an iPhone and an iPod Touch. This could be a sign of the ability to enable disk use...

actually, those might be images for itunes to access... but hopefully it's disk use!

What is wrong with this site? When you scroll down the page its not smooth at all. In firefox its much worse than in IE. Its still bad in IE. Is there some setting you can change. Anyone else notice it?

yeah i definately notice the jerky scrolling in firefox, but i use safari mostly so it's more of an annoyance than a real bother. i am curious as to what caused it, it seems to have started just 3 months or so back for me.

It's partly caused by the fixed background picture in the CSS, but even that doesn't normally cause as much of an issues as TUAW seems to have.

Holy cow man give us a chance, just spend a considerable amount of time updating my machine today.
By the way except for one glitch requiring a hard reboot, the update seems fine.
Actually more than fine as I've already update my contacts and sync'ed with yahoo. That little feature right there is worth the update. A little more sycing and Mac OS/X would be perfect for the working fool.
The only issue that I've identified at this point is that Webkit is very unstable but that is to be expected I guess.

Im kinda hoping for good intergration of the phonefunctions like Blue Phone Elite. I want to see the incomming call on my screen and stuff!!
