Sharing your clipboard
Web Worker Daily's got a nice little roundup of apps that allow you to share your clipboard between multiple computers. There's tools for Windows, Mac and -- most useful -- cross-platform.Also, as a user points out in the comments for the post, there's cl1p.net, a web-based tool that lets you cut-and-paste and share text, files, images and URLs. It's even iPhone ready, which is nice, considering nobody seems to want to put an actual clipboard on the darn thing.
These are all cool tools...but personally, if I need to copy text from one machine to another, I just email it to myself. How about you? Got any other easy tips for moving content across machines?

This is a lot like the e-mail technique, but I usually just iChat message myself... or if I have a lot of separate items that need to be sent I will make a file in text edit really quick and put it on my ftp. I guess neither of these are very streamlined.

there's always synergy, an open source, cross platform (OSX, Linux, and doze..) which lets you share one computer's keyboard, mouse, and clipboard between multiple computers. you've gotta try it to believe how awesome it is. my only gripe? doesn't play well with VLC fullscreen on your main computer...

I can see this being pretty useful. A lot of the times some email services take forever to attach images and the like. Depending on how fast this is I can see it saving time over just emailing it.

On the mac side there's also the fantastic Teleport http://www.abyssoft.com/software/teleport/. It's just like a Mac only version of Synergy. That means, not only does it handle clip-board sharing, but keyboard and mouse sharing as well so you can control any number of computers with one keyboard and mouse. However, it's better than Synergy in that it's built with non-geek's in mind, and given that it doesn't have to handle all the cross-platforminess that Synergy does, it's a lot more elegant and efficient (it's a true Mac App) I would definitely recommend it above Synergy if you're in a Mac-only environment.

teleport (keyboard/mouse sharing software) will copy the clipboard when you move between machines. Screen sharing under Leopard also works.

We use DropCopy on the three Macs at our house:

DropCopy's core functionality is quickly and easily moving files between machines, but clipboard sharing is a natural side-dish!

add my vote to DropCopy. While it is free, we did pay for a family license here as we're intensively using it day after day.

I use http://www.spynote.com for text and Gmail's drafts for binaries.

Look no further! Synergy + Dropbox offer everything I need to work between Leopard and XP. I can live with text only clipboard sharing from Synergy.

One more for synergy here, I'm also in a x-platform environment, so any platform-specific solution just doesnt do.

thanks greg. while synergyKM is a system preferences plugin (GUI, easy to configure) version, i must say that teleport functions better (especially with VLC). i've converted!
