Where can I buy an iPhone 3G?

During this afternoon's WWDC madness, international Apple fans were treated to some great news on the iPhone front: the iPhone 3G will be available in more than 70 countries.

While 22 countries will see the phone launch on July 11, 2008, the phone will be hitting other parts of the world as well. Apple wasn't kidding about making the international presence of the iPhone known, from Madagascar to Mali, Chile to Croatia, the iPhone 3G is coming.

You can see the complete list of countries here, but I went ahead and put together a little Google map representing as many of the countries as I could find/fit.

should definately check out

www.iphonedemocracy.com

they always have a good stock of brand new iPhones available. I bought one from them when apple and AT&T were sold out. They have great service even for those who have unlocked iPhones.

They are now selling the iPhone 3G currently Jailbroken and activated which means you dont need to sign up for an expensive AT&T plan for 2 years!

Umm...your map doesn't show Japan for July 11th, but as someone who lives here, I can assure you that the iPhone is being launched that day!
The only down side is that the main carriers here, Softbank (load of crap), DoCoMo (biggest ripoff communications company here) and KDDI (best of a bad bunch), are not only charging the $299 for the 16GB iPhone, but also several hundred more dollars for the service.

As for me, I'm going to wait a few months, because it'll only be that long before someone gets tired of it and puts it up for sale in the local recycle shop. Then I'll buy it and just unlock it.

Still amazes me that people are selling these on ebay and getting far more than their worth for them!

Oops....my bad...I just saw the Japan icon on the left side of the list. I will now go and whip myself ten times for my ignorance. (T_T)

Does this mean an iTunes store for Mexico and all the other countries that don't have iTunes but will have the iPhone?

I know you'll have to activate the iPhone in the store, but what about adding content to it.

Blue skies!!

Let me know when someone can get it unlocked. Until then, I'm not giving my money to AT&T.

No iPhone in Puerto Rico. How nice of you Apple! Always thinking us as Latin America. Mexico, Dominican Republic, and others are having the iPhone with America Móvil (Claro in Puerto Rico), so Apple, there's no excuses. We have AT&T and Claro... what gives!??!?!?!?!?!?! And with in-store activation, there won't be a chance to buy in the US and activate in Puerto Rico. Yeah, Apple, thanks a bunch!!!!

Hello Boricuas,

I read your comments and couldn't wait to share this with all of you. I don't know if you have heard of Tecnetico.com, it's a technology web page administered by Wilton Vargas from Puerto Rico, and they are up-to-date about the iPhone 3G issue in Puerto Rico.

Take a look at this link:

http://tecnetico.com/content.asp?contentid=1594&contenttypeid=51

,specially at the end of the page, where he says, and I quote:

Wilton has given information before, which has become true and I'm sure that his statement of the iPhone 3G being available in Puerto Rico on July 11, 2008 through AT&T is true.

Never lose your hope :)

Always lies !
For Belgium, it's already out...
Mobistar (our retained local provider for Apple) has denyed the Apple promise: no iPhone in July. Maybe later...

Thank's Apple. Our money is as good as $ (now, better in fact) but we are always coming after the others...
