Too bad the front page on the site doesnt look more like Apple's Cover Flow... Ian, how bout you get right on that?
You know, oddly enough, the University of Nebraska has a Lied Center as well. Weird.

Actually, when I first read it, I jumped for joy. I'm going to the Lied Center (in Nebraska) in a couple of weeks for an acting festival. ITF FTW!
There is a Lied in Nebraska. Both named after the same donor.
And to the earlier commenter:
1. come in to the ticket office.
2. We'll be handing out at specific events around lawrence this summer.
3. every ticket purchase will have at least one card in the envelope.
Hope this helps.
It's always nice to see something that meshes my two loves, KU and Macs.
Rock Chalk Jayhawk, indeed.
As a KU student this is awesome and great publicity!

I jest (K-State-er here).
To all the KU and midwest people... we just released this today, so it's brand new. And you'll start seeing the cards out and about especially after today to go along with our single-ticket on-sale date on Monday.
So thanks for the great comments, and enjoy the free tunes!
This is pretty neat.
I'm entering KU as a Freshman this Fall, so it's nice to see they're embracing technology like this.
How is it that I attend KU (and summer classes right now!) and I heard about this here first! I check the schools website everyday for email and news and I missed this? Oh well, great idea, I think I'll walk over and pick one up today.

June 12 2008 at 3:29 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI got one of these from a friend the other day. It's a pretty cool idea and has a nice selection of artists.
Is this unique to KU or are other arts halls doing this?
Glad you enjoyed it!
U of Illinois did this for a festival in 2005, and Stanford did it in 2007. We're hoping this is the beginning of a bigger partnership with Apple/iTunes. But right now, we're the only university they're doing it with.
Ian--
I'm a grad student @ KU and a semi-frequent Lied Center visitor...how do I get one of these?
