Thanks, Wil!

Holding the Command key (aka the Apple key) and pressing Tab will cycle through your open applications. It's easier to Cmd-Tab if you are Copy (Cmd-C) and Pasting (Cmd-V) to and from various applications.

For those who don't want to bother watching it, the results (starting about 1:40) from going from 4GB to 4GB Corsair low latency:
'Xbench 157->165
Quake Wars 39->45 fps
Final Cut Pro 840 s->~780 s
Also, there's a much larger jump from 2GB->4GB than from 4GB to 4GB low latency.

...Now if only someone could teach them how to light a set properly...

I'll watch it later but this is how it should go;
"Look under you battery"
FIN.

Add the r yourself guys. See it as a grammatical exercise for the day.

Agreed, that's all the video should have been.
Cycomachead said 1:32PM on 6-26-2008
There's already plenty of video's showing how to do this. But there's 2 technical errors in the video.
1. Not every current shipping Mac has 2GB of RAM. The include the Mac Mini, entry level MB and entry level iMacs
2. Only the past 2 revisions of the MacBook (Santa Rose and Penryn based) support 4GB of RAM. Other Core 2s support 3GB and Core Duo MB's only support 2GB. That's essentially the same for the MBP, but I'm not positive.

I believe I have the older Macbook supporting only 3GB. I've heard pros and cons of stuffing 4GB in one of these older machines, does anyone know for sure if I will see a significant speed bump in going from 3GB -> 4GB?
Cycomachead said 3:52PM on 6-26-2008
From 3 > 4. It won't be too significant. It will help more if you rely on the graphics chip. Of course at today's prices it may be only a $30 upgrade which might be worth it. I just wish my MB was a Core 2.

Funny, my MacBook (Bought in Jan) only came with 1GB. I wanted to upgrade to 2GB at least so I went to BestBuy and bought the Kingston 1GB for 99.99. Turns out the 1GB originally is 2x512, which only gave me 1.5GB. Went to Walmart to buy some DVDs and seen the exact RAM (minus the word APPLE) on the package 2GB for 69.99. Bought it and works perfectly fine. 4GB's here I come. uh.....looks like I'm going back to BestBuy tonight.

Don't buy your RAM from best buy. Check online from places like Newegg or Frys.com. Much cheaper prices!!!
michas_pi said 8:57PM on 6-26-2008
I also highly recommend Newegg. I purchased my 4GB kit from them for my Macbook (Late 2007).

For the record, my macbook (pro) shipped with 512MB of ram. I upgraded to 2GB and thought I was pretty awesome, but apparently not.

How is upgrading to 4GB NOT the first thing everyone does with their MacBook?
Mine is a Santa Rosa with 4GB of OWC memory, and it's currently rocking a 320GB hard drive. When the Samsung M6 500GB hard drive gets cheaper, I'll be doing yet another upgrade.
The MacBook is so easy to upgrade that it makes me wonder why previous laptops (both Mac and PC) were always such a pain in the ass about it.

It is funny how there's a demo for something for which there are graphical instructions printed in the battery well...
