Which upcoming goodie are you anticipating?

With only a week before July, we're eager to get our hands on the new goodies from Apple. With so much to look forward to and try out, we're wondering which of the pending updates you're most interested in.

Is it Mobile Me's offer of "Exchange for the rest of us?" Perhaps it's iPhone software 2.0, or even the snazzy 3G iPhone you're waiting for.

Here's your chance to let us now. Add your answer to our highly unscientific poll, and we'll post the results tomorrow. Oh, it's like Christmas! In July. Or something.

What are you anticipating?
iPhone 3g2250 (29.8%)
iPhone software 2.02029 (26.9%)
Mobile Me677 (9.0%)
The App Store1688 (22.4%)
The whining that will ensue about the above895 (11.9%)

I'd like an updated Touch with GPS and the more I think about it I don't mind paying an extra $100 over the price of the iPhone because it would be worth it to me NOT to have a phone (or the monthly charges that come with it).

Give the touch all the features of the phone, minus phone. And yeah, we've all heard that enough times to be sick of it, I know.

If limited to the poll, I think the 2.0 software update is the most exciting goodie.

As much as I love my iPod touch, I HATE the fact that I have to have an internet connection to play any of my games, or use any of my web apps. I'm looking forward to replacing them with native applications.

...and all the brilliant apps that are going to be enhanced or built around that. Woohoo!

I was anticipating the iPhone 3G until Rogers announced the worlds worst/most expensive data plans since the inception of data plans.

My vote is for the less-expensive iPod touch that hopefully should come out soon (?). I don't need the phone, but surely the touch will become cheaper. Right?

I'm with you, pal. iPod touch has most of the features, with none of the $70-per-month fees.

I can stick with an iPod touch and my Virgin Mobile phone.

anyone knows if there will be backups or allowed re-downloads of your apps? if you buy 10 apps 10 Bucks each and then your harddrive dies, what happens? What happens to the people who bought iPhone Software 1.4 and now will buy 2.0 after they upgraded their ipod and their machine dies..... do they have to pay again to get that firmware for the ipod or does itunes "recognize" them and let them download it as often as they wish?

I would guess that iTunes will keep a backup on your computer's hard drive just like it does with iPod games now.

Yes, that's for sure but what if your machine crashes? you cant get games from an ipod back, and even if you could, what if machine and ipod both crashed? other mp3 services offer infinite downloads of the same file, does itunes still just allow 1 download so no "backup" options via the store?
