Apple posts iPhone 3G Guided Tour

The iPhone 3G isn't due out until July 11th, but it looks like Apple is, once again, trying to start up the hype train. You can watch the video by heading over to Apple's iPhone website.
Thanks, Justin!

The video is interesting, but the dude's presentation is really annoying. He needs to stop waving his hands like he's trying to guide an airplane in for a landing.

What's with his hands? I think he is asexual. He cross pollenates

Haha yeah I was thinking the same thing. This guy is soooo creepy looking (i think its the nerdy glass wearing stalker look with that ugly black shirt). And the hands. wtf? Just way too distracting.
He certainly in good form tho he's sprouting out the buzzwords like an advertising exec on ecstasy.;p
Regardless 3G iphone here I come despite the weird guided tour.

Not this time Apple. I will not get myself hyped far in advance and skip work Day 1 to buy the phone. I know you're going to have plenty to go around. Plus unless that video says something about A2DP, I won't be excited.

has anyone every noticed that the time on the iPhone in all of their videos is always 9:42. What's with that?

it's probably the minute that iPhones were announced. Maybe.

Of course, everyone has noticed! Do you really think the rabbid Apple fan community wouldn't notice something so blatantly obvious.
Of course, nobody knows why.
Keynotes start at 10am, so it can't be that. It could be a Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy reference (the 42) and the 9 just chosen randomly... Or it could be purely chance. I believe there's a way to make your hacked phone say it's always a specific time...

Interesting to see two screws at the bottom of the new iPhone (at least on this 3D representation). Maybe the battery will be replaceable this time?

Did anyone notice what he said about the GPS: "As long as you have the tracking mode on, your position will remain in the center of the map, even as you move from place to place !" So, instead of the tracking button being a thing that you press once to locate yourself, you can pretty much track yourself if you have a GPS signal available. Isn't this new information ?

Is someone married to him? Yikes. I can just imagine him explaining to his partner in the bedroom how he plans to bring her (or him?) pleasure with a series of easy, fun, enjoyable moves that can be tried by everyone.
What a creep. Remind me again how Apple is supposed to be the company for people who don't follow the herd? There's something almost proto-fascist about these spokesbots.

Can someone tell me what Apple has against Tasks? The Exchange bit of that video shows Calendars, Contacts & Mail. I know you can't do Notes with ActiveSync and that is bad enough, but come on! Tasks are useful!!

Haha his hands are so incredibly distracting. I missed most of what he said in the first minute because I was mimicking his motions. Bounce out one-two-three-four, and together, then bounce one-two-three...

Is it just me or did they "forget" to mention that it now may support ZIP files?
Was watching the Tour and when they were showing iWork document support they had em in ZIP files and the iPhone still knew what they were.

iWork uses .zip files to compact the files you create with them. This is used to package stuff like images, etc. along with the file rather than just embed it. If you create a document in pages and save it, it will be saved as Document.pages.zip rather than just .pages. Would be nice if the attachment viewer didn't show this ".zip" extension for the purpose of ease of use...
It looks like it will only support iWork-specific ZIPs. Would be interesting if it did support others though...

o okay...never really noticed that in iWork.

Why does everyone at Apple dress the same? I find that scary.

It's called a "brand". Notice that Best Buy employees also dress the same while they are at work? Or target? Or McDonalds, or anyone?

I can't seem to find a decent answer to this question...
I current pull email into Microsoft Entourage on my mac book pro from about 7 different email accounts. This is nice because it keeps those accounts clear (so i don't need to check them individually) and allows me to sort all of my mail into folders by type/job/etc. I really want to get the new iphone...but will this work with my emails? I currently have my system set to scan my addresses every three minutes. Will iphone be able to access my email even if entourage is frequently clearing out my account?
Please help!
