Found Footage: iPhone boxes arrive at AT&T stores
A recent YouTube video suggests that AT&T has received their first shipment of iPhones. In the video, an AT&T employee or manager unboxes the unseemly amount of iPhones and stacks them on a shelf where they are locked up for safe keeping. An interesting note: the white 16GB iPhones come in white boxes.

The white boxes will be a godsend to the ARS staff -- makes it much easier to grab the right color out of the drawer.
The AT&T staff needs to learn how to un-carton iPhones: open box, turn box upside down. It's faster and it doesn't run the risk of tearing the shrink wrap.
Well we know of one AT&T manager thats going to be fired soon...... Unless this was some sort of an attempt at a viral video from AT&T, doubt that though.

July 10 2008 at 1:21 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWas it just me or was that the same location as where the iPhone 3G upgrade videos from AT&T were filmed?

I was in the local AT&T store in the northern part of Cincinnati today. They tried to act as though none were in stock... finally one of the guys came out of the back, and picked up our conversation midway through. He slipped, said something, the others looked ready to kill him. They got 10 in stock early for some reason... they only expect to get 30 total, and the majority (20-25) of those are 8GB. The other store in our area said the exact same thing regarding quantities.
July 10 2008 at 12:28 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replywhich store in cincy were you at?
July 10 2008 at 1:04 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe two stores I referenced were the Bridgewater store in Hamilton township, and the Tylersville Rd. store.
You planning to buy? Where you hoping to go?
So each box holds 10 and there's 6 boxes so they only got 60! yikes! looks like you'll be better off to go to an apple store
July 10 2008 at 12:19 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWell, it looks like 80 iPhones per AT&T store. (8 boxes, 10 iPhones in each box)
I'm sure the allocation is larger for bigger, prime stores.
So it looks like 80 total iPhones. 60 Black 16 GB and 20 White 16 GB. No Black 8 GB.
Not very many, but they must be getting another shipment since their was no 8 GB.
To be safe I think I'll sill go to an Apple Store just because I want a white one
