iPhone 101: Taking screenshots
With the advent of the new iPhone firmware 2.0, users who have installed it report that you are now able to easily take and share screenshots of your iPhone -- all without downloading any additional software. To take a screenshot, just hold down the home button while quickly pressing the sleep/wake button at the top of the phone. The screen will flash and an image will be saved in your Camera Roll. You can easily share your screenshot by e-mailing it using the share option in the Photos app.

Is there ToDo integration with iCal now? Or did that never happen? And if it didn't, why? Is there some technical reason why iCal on my Mac can have ToDos but iCal on iPhone cant?

...previously a jailbreak application. Did it come preloaded with 2.0?

It's actually a Springboard property that disabled by default in previous OS versions. It was possible to enable this and make use of it. I wonder if Apple left this "on" accidentally - that'd be funny...

will this work on the iPod Touch, or is there not an iPod Touch with the 2.0 software yet?

Yeah, that's what I want to know.

It is much easier if you hold the Sleep/Wake button FIRST and then tap Home, or the app might "feel" the Home button being pressed and be forced to quit.

but if you hold the sleep wake button it could hold to power off and such. I think it could go either way.

Only if you hold it for a *long* time, unlike the Home button.

2.0 hasn't been released for iPod touch yet...
There's also no photo roll on the iPod touch, so they'd have to put the snapshot in a special album in the Photos menu.

Yep that was a problem in the jailbreak community until they made an app called "Touch Roll" lol.

I went ahead and installed and haven't had any problems yet. However, one of my friends who works at an Apple Store has said that a few people have already started filtering into the Genius bar with iPhones that are crashing since installing the update.
Just a heads up!

I liked your screen shots, In version 1, users were allowed
only 9 pages which I soon filled up, plus using some from address book URL's and Mock Dock I was able to add more but I would like additional screen pages. Does any one know if we will get more pages in version 2 for our APPS?
Thanks.

Ha ha! That's cool! It worked, not sure why the average person would want to do this. But most of us don't consider ourselves average. Great tip anyway.

I tried it on my iPod Touch, which has the 2.0 software. It works! The screenshots are saved under a Saved Photos album inside the Photo app.
I also found out that after you take screenshots and you connect your Touch to the computer, iPhoto will load. You can then import your photos from the Touch.
I've got some screenshots and details on my blog post here - http://www.shinywhitegadgets.com/2008/07/ipod-touch-tip-how-to-take-screenshots.html
