MobileMe: A First look
We've all awaited the .Mac to MobileMe switch for a while now (some more than others). However, Apple's 6 hour time table for upgrading to MobileMe turned awry and led into an almost 24 hour up, down, up, up, down cycle. If you're like most users experiencing the 24 outage, then you haven't been able to login and experience MobileMe first hand. So why not take a look at our gallery? We've got pictures of the entire MobileMe suite of web applications and user preferences: from the login screen to storage partitioning.

I don't know about any "up" times--it's been down every single time I've tried it since early this morning. And this isn't just a "waaah, I want to try the new system" rant, it's a "I want my basic functions back" rant. I missed an important e-mail earlier today because mac.com was not available. Why Apple cannot keep the existing functions running while they iron out the woes with the new features is not only baffling but disruptive, and is denying us the functionality we paid for.

No jokes, seriously. We just posted these and sometimes the gallery pages take a little while to show up. Sorry for the delay, however, they should show up shortly.

I can't log in to MobileMe through the Preference Pane... and Me.com says "coming soon."
I sent myself an e-mail from my .Mac/MobileMe address to my normal e-mail, and it still hasn't arrived.

When was all of it actually up for long enough to take 23 screenshots?

I can log in to me.com now but I can't log in through my MacBook and access Back to My Mac. I keep getting told that my username/password is invalid; it's not. Is anyone able to log in through system preferences?

I cant log onto my preferences pane, and have been unable to access anything today except email via my desktop client.... Did downloading the update early, through the link that tuaw and others were providing, rather than waiting for the software update to push to my macbook possibly screw me??

same story. It always tells me my user password/name is wrong...

For those who cannot log into me.com, now that is up for now, at least it is while I write this..
try capitalizing the first letter of your ID name (Username) without any @mac or @me, I just changed that and it worked fine!
that got me thinking! the login for me.com in systemsPrefs doesn't allow me to capitalize! everytime I enter my username and hold down shift(or even capslock) no capital letter comes out?could the problem be this minute?

Yeah, Those are the only 2 pages seen on me.com

This makes me mad. How can everyone else see it and I cannot. I go to "me.com" and it takes me to the apple page for the introduction (apple.com/mobileme). Why can't I see it?

Try flushing your DNS cache perhaps?
In Terminal: lookupd -flushcache
Dan said 4:11AM on 7-11-2008
Sorry, that's:
dscacheutil -flushcache

Nice to see Apple updating us on the status of the upgrade...

It's been up and down (mostly down) several times tonight.
It's currently down (at least for me) - just redirecting to www.apple.com/mobileme (as you are seeing).

I can log in through System Preferences now.
iDisk doesn't work, though.

I can also now login via System Prefs now.
It hasn't upgraded my account space, though (Mail Storage: 5.0GB, iDisk Storage: 5.0GB).
If I click on the "iDisk" tab, it tells me that it can't connect to the server right now.
