Twitterrific released in two flavors for iPhone
The friendly friends at The Iconfactory have released two editions of Twitterrific for the App Store: one is a free version supported by advertising, and the other is a paid version that omits the ads.
Twitterrific (the free version) periodically shows ads via The Deck, similar to its free counterpart for the desktop.
Twitterrific Premium is $9.99, and omits the advertising. It also includes an extra display theme.
Both apps are available via the App Store.
I'd personally like to congratulate the ADC-award-winning team on their efforts: It looks great, and I'm very much looking forward to using the software on my iPod touch.
Update: The Iconfactory has posted a blog entry about the release, including details about a detail view for each tweet, and a mini-browser to quickly look at links (without having to open Mobile Safari -- but you can if you want to). They even posted some screenshots. Looks awesome!

I congratulate them on a clever delivery. By offering two downloads, the app will be accessible to everyone, and many will prefer the ad-free one. Brilliant!

I want a Twitter program that will allow me to take a picture and tweet that. Anyone know if this will do it?

If you have a Twitter account, you can just email the picture [from your phone] to your twitter account using the super secret email address provided to you. Then, just use the Subject line to tweet the description.

Twitterrific for iPhone allows you to tweet images. It says so in the app description.

I noticed a few other apps doing the same thing. Exposure, a flickr browser also used "The Deck" to push ads.

OK, the two price option thing is awesome-hope this becomes a trend on the App Store-really takes the risk out of trying new stuff!

Am I the only person who doesn't understand TUAW's ridiculous obsession with Twitter? Or am I the only one here who doesn't have friends who even know what twitter is?

You're the only one.

Honestly, the free version of this Twitter app isn't great - the scrolling stutters and it's got ads. Which is their right, but the jailbreak apps (also free) did not. Additionally, I'm not found on their decision to implement a double-click sort of navigation.

I won't use this app out of principle. A cell network isn't like your home network. Every byte eats into your data plan (no pun intended). I don't like ads in my iPhone apps.
