Up and running 2.0 on my first gen iPhone on Rogers in Canada. The process was smooth, and I hit no bugs using the 2.01 Pwnage tool. Very impressed by the great work the team has done!
Hopefully someone figures out a 3G unlock soon!

Guys,
Sorry if I sound like a newbie here, but if I see the Cydia icon on my home screen, am I unlocked?(2g 8gb). I'm gifting the phone to someone in Canada and want to make sure it's good to go on their gsm net.
Thanks.

Chat team is censoring comments regarding winpwn. WinPwn devs report: "Dev team doesn't want to play nice with cmw... that means it's either xpwn or buy a mac for now.."

So TUAW condone the iPhone hacking community?

What is there to...not condone?
There are many paths to where you may want to go. Quie frankly, having an "always on" chat app is more than enough reason for some people to give a big Thumbs Up to the seedy underbelly that is the "unofficial" way...
...although I think on the 3G, such an app is a terrible idea because it has half the battery life of the original and Yet Another Change to the dock connector.
But yeah, why do you think they should be vilified...or if not that, why would anyone...not...condone their efforts?

For everyone who wanted a list to see what was currently available in the Cydia installer, I wrote one up for you. I'll be updating it regularly and will soon have links to developers websites for each app.

It annoys me that I have jailbroken my iPhone 3G and and everything is great but the Dev team forgot to get into Maps Application which will no longer use the GPS feature which I use a lot so until that works I'm restoring.

jailbreaking is great an all, but until there is a credible amount of software to use, vis a vis Installer.app, there's no much point is risking a bricking, i think.

Saurik's tools for moving applications to the data partition has been mentioned several times, but I can't find it -- neither on the web nor while using Cydia. Any hints?

I was thrilled that I could finally change the 'new-mail.caf' sound to something audible using Transmit and SSH. My iphone works now. Video record would be a nice app to get, but after that I'm covered....until I get a new phone in two weeks and give my old one to my neice...

Not qualified to answer... [redacted] [redacted] [redacted]... tons of "no, we don't have a Windows timeline right now" questions. Even a plug to the hosts' own App Store programs. I draw a line between journalism and blogs quite often in these comments, but you're starting to really reach here with these live chats.
Thanks for putting the live chat after the jump, but is there any point to these? I'm not learning anything new with each subsequent live chat other than knowing what questions should never be let through because they've already been answered three times.

Apple does have repeating alarms under alarms in the clock application. You choose a time and can have it repeated whichever days you want.
