iPhone kicking butt on flickr

Despite the complaints about the measly 2-megapixel camera built into the iPhone, it appears that ease-of-use trumps resolution. The iPhone remains the leader in camera phone usage on Flickr.

Flickr monthly statistics indicate that not only has the iPhone retained its lead (which it gained after knocking the Nokia N95 from the top spot) over other phones, but the lead has begun to widen. Why? It might be due to faster photo uploading from the iPhone 3G, the capability to geotag your iPhone photos, or just the fact that the iPhone photo app is easy to launch and use.

If you're not a flickr user, where do you keep your iPhone pictures? Leave a comment below!

Nokia phones are the best phone investment that you could make. Year after year they have been providing quality phones for consumers. Unfortunately the new Nokia phones can cost you an arm and a leg, especially an unlocked Nokia N95. I found a great site to find unlocked Nokia cell phones from auctions. I bought 2 Nokia N95 cell phones for me and my wife, and we love them. Check them out at Unlocked Nokia Cell Phone Auctions. Just my 2 cents.

Remember the first picture on flickr with iPhone EXIF data?

Never been much of a Flicker user. Most of my Friends are around Facebook, so I tend to put stuff up there, just about everything else goes on to MobileMe. I try to keep everything in one place.

they are on facebook now, but what happens when another social site becomes the place to be? using a dedicated photo site means you won't have to completely redo your next profile on whatever site is the next hip one.

It may just be because many Nokia users have switched to uploading their pics to Nokia's own Ovi Share http://share.ovi.com/ also allows you to upload video (something that iPhone users don't have to worry about, since they can't even record video)

I used to send 'em to Facebook, but I've been dying to get out of that habit. Using a dedicated photo service that handles it well—and is more flexible as a web service—is just a better idea. Facebook can be a bit of a walled garden. Sure, it's nice to have things integrated smoothly into Facebook, but I'll settle for allowing Flickr to dump notifications into my New Feed. Honestly, I think Facebook could do a much better job of integrating Flickr into the Facebook Photos app.

In terms of the up-tick in iPhone stats on Flickr, I'm sure it's a huge confluence of things: 1) it seems iPhones are now properly transmitting EXIF data, when emailing photos to Flickr (that's my experience anyway), 2) more 3rd-party apps are becoming available to help people upload, 3) Facebook now has a nice "Import" feature for getting your Flickr updates in your News Feed, which will in turn convince more people to use Flickr.

I'm using Mobile Fotos ($1.99 from the App Store) to upload photos to flickr from the iPhone. You can even specify which set to place the photos in, which is a feature absent from the email photos route.
