iPhone kicking butt on flickr

Flickr monthly statistics indicate that not only has the iPhone retained its lead (which it gained after knocking the Nokia N95 from the top spot) over other phones, but the lead has begun to widen. Why? It might be due to faster photo uploading from the iPhone 3G, the capability to geotag your iPhone photos, or just the fact that the iPhone photo app is easy to launch and use.
If you're not a flickr user, where do you keep your iPhone pictures? Leave a comment below!

Facebook or MobileMe, depending on the picture.

It's probably more because apps like Mobile Fotos apply the Make/Model EXIF tag, which is stripped out if you go the usual email to flickr route.

Yep, it must be more. I end up replacing the photos I upload on-the-go from the iPhone once I am back at my computer and have imported them to iPhoto.

Is this still true? I've been emailing pics from my iPhone to Flickr for the past week, and each photo is properly tagged as an Apple iPhone picture.
Somebody seems to have fixed something.

Yes, I'd been waiting for this!
Totally agree with N J A about the licensing thing... just leave it be, please TfL. Oh, and TUAW: please keep on reporting on London related stuff like this :]
Cheers

This is great, hopefully it means that we will be seeing a dedicated app from Flickr in the near future. I can't believe they don't have an "uploadr" for iPhone yet. Emails photos shrinks the resolution. I want full res photos up on flickr.

there's no access to the full-resolution pics in the sdk :(

Heh, Flickr users are avid web 2.0 social app users, which tend to use Macs and the latest gizmos as part of their "lifestyle" (try not to puke when saying this out loud).
Nothing new, but thanks for confirming.

I've been uploading to photobucket because flickr doesnt have an app that will let me up there.
Another vote for a dedicated flickr uploader app.

How do you upload to Flickr from the iPhone? Which app(s) can do this?

I have been working with iTunes Store Support for a week, but have not been able to resolve the infamous “Authorisation Loop” error, so thought I would share and vent my frustrations here. :)
I upgraded to 7.7.1.11 recently and since the upgrade none of the $1,000 worth of songs videos and TV Shows purchased and downloaded will play in iTunes or our Apple TV.
When I click on a song, movie or show, we receive the message “This computer is not authorized…”.
I than put in the password and receive the hopeful message: “Machine Authorization was Successful”, but the songs, videos and shows still don’t play. When you click on the title again it again re-asks for “authorization”.
I have tried all of the suggested fixes and set of instructions received from iTunes Store support and the support website, including:
* De-authorising, re-authorising
* Re-installing iTunes
* Removing the SC folder
* Re-building the iTunes Library
* Re-building iTunes Preferences
* Creating a new user acount and installing iTunes
* Installing iTunes on a different computer with a different operating system
* Re-installed songs from a backup
* Updating iTunes Store Account Information
* Scanned for viruses
* Updated Windows
* Consulted a psychic
* Had my laptop exorcised
* and many more
.. of course every time you do most of these things the Apple TV is wiped and spends hours re-syncing with iTunes over my wireless network which adds to the frustration.
I have been a loyal shareholder and customer to Apple and iTunes and was even in the process of purchasing iPhones for the family, but this most recent set of issues (this is the second time by the way for us to go through this exact problem) is becoming very aggravating - beyond what I can put up with.
Having invested well over $1,000 in Apple, and having also upgraded my internet connection to cater for more download limits, we have decided to ditch our Apple love affair, and move to a much more reliable and robust on-demand entertainment delivery system - like the new Foxtel Cable HD On Demand.
Apple - you have absolutely received the very last dollar from me.

I wish there was an equivalent app out there to the old 1.1.4 sendpics app. I wanna have the ability to email full non-bastardized photos to flickr!

flickr user and I use Mobile Fotos to upload ... only app so far that does not remove the exif info, which to me is very important. only negative is you are not able to upload full-res shots from the camera roll.

Geo-tagging? Where? Sure the phone tags your photos. And sure, you can send em to Flickr. But ya don't get both unless you tether up the phone, drag the pics off with an app, and then post them to Flickr. This is pretty broken in the current version of the software and pretty damn irritating. Why bother geo-tagging if you're gonna strip it off for any operation? All iPhone apps lose the geotag, since it is the API that is stripping it.
